Street Fighter 6 has been building its Year 3 roster one character at a time, and Capcom just confirmed the final piece. Ingrid arrives on May 28, 2026 as the fourth and last DLC fighter of Year 3, closing out a lineup that already included Sagat, C. Viper, and Alex.
Here's the thing: Ingrid is not a newcomer to the franchise. She first appeared in Capcom Fighting Evolution back in 2004, then returned in Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX in 2006. That's a 20-year gap before landing in Street Fighter 6, which makes her arrival feel like a genuine deep cut for longtime fans of the series.
A solar-powered kit with real combo depth
Ingrid's entire moveset revolves around the sun, and it goes deeper than a single gimmick. Her Sun Crests mechanic lets her stack up to four charges that power up her attacks with extra hits, extended range, and follow-up options. Managing those crests is the key here, since several moves either spend or build them depending on which button you press.
Sun Shot fires a ball of light that pauses briefly before launching at a variable angle or speed, giving it a deceptive quality that will take opponents time to read. Sun Flare sends a forward beam, with the light version storing a crest and heavier versions burning them for combo potential. Solar Burst works similarly but fires diagonally downward from the air.
Sun Rise is a spinning attack with three variants that opens combo routes, while Sun Veil functions as a counter that nullifies incoming damage and drops the attacker. Worth knowing: Sun Veil absorbs projectiles but will not stop Super Arts or multi-hit attacks.
Sun Veil does not counter Super Arts or attacks that hit multiple times, so timing and read-selection matter when using it defensively.
For mobility, Vanishing Sun gives Ingrid a short-range teleport with three destination options, useful for both offensive pressure and creating defensive distance.
Three Super Arts, one beam that crosses the whole screen
Ingrid's Super Art suite rounds out the kit. Shining Sun (Level 1) chains together a series of magical kicks. Order of the Sun (Level 2) fires a beacon into the sky, then rains solar power down on opponents with button-dependent placement. Cosmic Ray (Level 3) is the standout: a full-screen energy beam that can reach opponents anywhere on the stage.
What comes with Ingrid at launch
Ingrid ships with two outfits on day one. Outfit 1 is a redesigned look tied to her dimensional travel storyline, while Outfit 2 brings back her classic purple school uniform from her original appearances. Players who want the full Year 3 wardrobe should note that Outfit 3 for all four Year 3 characters (Sagat, C. Viper, Alex, and Ingrid) also drops on May 28.
Access comes through either the Year 3 Character Pass or the Year 3 Ultimate Pass.
Street Fighter 6 is available on PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The game has sold over six million units to date, and Ingrid's addition closes the book on a Year 3 that pulled from some of the franchise's more unexpected corners.
