The Magic: The Gathering Marvel Super Heroes set is officially out, and Amazon didn't wait long to start discounting it. A brand-new set getting 40% cuts within its launch window is genuinely unusual, and it makes this one of the better entry points MTG has offered in a while.

The headline deal: Play Booster box at $125.95
The Play Booster Box sits at the center of this. At full MSRP it runs $209.70, which works out to $6.99 per pack across 30 packs. The current Amazon price of $125.95 drops that to $4.19 per pack, which is the lowest this product has ever been listed on the platform.
Here's the thing: Play Boosters replaced the old Draft and Set Booster split, so this box format is now the standard for both playing and pulling singles. Getting it at this price on launch week is not something that happens often.
What the rest of the product lineup looks like
The Play Booster Box isn't the only thing moving. Several other products in the Marvel Super Heroes lineup have price cuts active right now:
The Beginner Box at $24.44 is worth calling out specifically. It comes with two tutorial decks built around Captain America and Iron Man, and supports Jumpstart-style mini-deck swapping to build 40-card decks. For anyone who has been curious about MTG but hasn't pulled the trigger, a Marvel-themed entry point at $24 is about as low a barrier as you'll find.
Borderless cards already spiking hard
Beyond the sealed product deals, the secondary market for individual cards from this set is moving fast. Doctor Doom (Borderless) has already climbed to nearly $150, which makes sense given how much Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday has kept that character in the cultural conversation. Thanos, The Mad Titan (Borderless) is hitting highs around $240.
The standout, though, is The Mind Stone (Borderless). The card itself is functionally identical to the standard version, but the Borderless art also features Thanos, and that combination has pushed it to nearly $1,500. A rarer Showcase version of the same card hasn't widely surfaced yet, so that number could move further.

Why this launch discount matters
New MTG sets rarely see meaningful discounts in their first week. Demand is usually high enough that retailers hold at MSRP or above for the first month. The fact that Amazon is cutting 40% off the Play Booster Box this early suggests either strong initial stock levels or aggressive pricing strategy to move volume on a high-profile crossover set.
For players, that's straightforwardly good news. For collectors focused on sealed product appreciation, it's worth noting that launch-window discounts can suppress short-term sealed box prices on the secondary market.
The Commander decks are all priced at $74.99 standard, with Doom Prevails, The Fantastic Four, Wakanda Forever, and Avengers Assemble all available. If you're specifically a Commander player, the full four-deck bundle at $274.99 (down from $299.99) is the more efficient purchase.
