Sony has confirmed the full May 2026 lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium, and it is one of the stronger catalog drops in recent memory. Eight games go live on May 19, with Star Wars Outlaws and Red Dead Redemption 2 doing the heavy lifting at the top of the list. If you are a fan of adventure games, this month is worth paying attention to.
What Sony is adding this month
Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, is the headline PS5 addition for Extra subscribers. The open-world Star Wars game launched in August 2024 to a mixed reception, with criticism aimed at its stealth systems and some rough technical edges at launch. Post-launch patches addressed a lot of those complaints, and the game sits at around 77 on Metacritic with a Mostly Positive rating on Steam. For anyone who held off at launch, dropping into Kay Vess's scoundrel story through PS Plus is a reasonable entry point.
Here's the thing: Red Dead Redemption 2 might actually be the bigger draw for a lot of subscribers. Rockstar's 2018 open-world western has sold over 82 million copies worldwide and is still the most downloaded PS4 native title on a monthly basis. This is its first return to the PS Plus catalog since May 2024, and the download includes both the main game and Red Dead Online.

The rest of the batch, ranked by interest
Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templar Reforged deserves more attention than it will probably get. Revolution Software's remaster of the 1996 point-and-click classic holds an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam and sits at around 84 on Metacritic. The updated visuals, controls, and voice acting make it the cleanest way to experience one of the genre's most beloved stories.
The Thaumaturge, developed by Fool's Theory and published by 11 bit studios, is an isometric RPG set in 1905 Warsaw. It blends turn-based combat with investigation mechanics and earned a Very Positive rating on Steam. Niche, but genuinely distinctive.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn from A44 Games offers a more accessible take on the Soulslike formula, mixing gunplay with magic combat. It launched day one on Xbox Game Pass, so PS players are finally getting their shot at it.
Enotria: The Last Song from Italian studio Jyamma Games draws from Commedia dell'arte and Italian folklore, using a mask-based class system to vary combat builds. Reviews are mixed, but the visual identity is striking enough that Soulslike fans will find it worth a few hours.
Bramble: The Mountain King rounds out the Extra lineup with a short, atmospheric dark fairy-tale adventure inspired by Nordic folklore. Running around 5 to 8 hours, it leans hard into horror-tinged atmosphere and haunting narration.
Time Crisis with gyro aiming is a genuine surprise
The Premium-exclusive addition is Time Crisis from Bandai Namco, updated with gyro aiming support for modern hardware. It is an unusual pick, but the gyro implementation gives it a reason to exist beyond pure nostalgia. For Premium subscribers who have been looking for a reason to use that tier beyond the classic game library, this is at least a fun one.
What this means for gamers is a May catalog that covers a lot of ground. Two massive open-world titles, a well-received remaster, a couple of Soulslike entries, a distinctive RPG, and an arcade classic with a modern twist.
