Sony hit UK PlayStation owners with a round of price increases earlier this year, pushing the PS5 Pro and PlayStation Portal to new highs that left a lot of potential buyers sitting on their hands. Right now, both pieces of hardware have dropped to their most competitive prices in months, and the window on at least one of these deals looks genuinely narrow.

The PS5 Pro deal you've been waiting for
The PS5 Pro is currently available at approximately $880 (around £699) through EE in the UK, representing an £89 discount off the current retail price. The catch: this is a "Good as New" customer return listing, which almost certainly means an open-box unit rather than anything genuinely damaged or worn. Stock on listings like this tends to disappear fast.
Here's the thing, though. Sony's pricing trajectory on the PS5 Pro has been pointing upward all year. The earlier price hikes weren't a one-time adjustment, and there's little reason to expect the console gets cheaper from here. If you've been waiting for a dip, this is probably as good as it gets for a while.
If you do pick one up, you'll want to get the most out of it. Check out our PS5 Pro performance settings guide for Ghost of Yotei to see exactly what the hardware can do with one of PlayStation's biggest recent releases.
PlayStation Portal drops below its post-hike price
The PlayStation Portal is also seeing a meaningful discount right now, down to approximately $233 (around £185) on Amazon UK. Unlike the PS5 Pro deal, this is a brand new unit, which removes any hesitation about condition. The Portal was swept up in the same wave of Sony price increases earlier this year, and this deal puts it more than £30 below the new RRP.
The Portal has found a solid audience since launch as a couch-to-bedroom streaming solution, and at this price it's a much easier sell than it was at the inflated post-hike rate.
Other deals worth noting this week
Beyond the headline PlayStation hardware, a few other deals are worth your attention right now.
- Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless XT gaming headset: down to approximately $176 (around £139.99) on Amazon UK, from a list price of around £189.99. The Virtuoso XT is a multiplatform wireless headset with solid audio quality and broad compatibility, making the roughly 26% discount genuinely useful.
- Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake on PS5: approximately $43 (around £34.56) on Amazon UK, down 42% from the standard price. One of the more substantial game discounts available right now.
- Battlefield 6 on Xbox: approximately $22 (around £17.54) on Amazon UK. If you haven't jumped into one of last year's biggest shooters yet, that's a low barrier to entry. Before you buy, check out our Battlefield REDSEC best PS5 and Xbox settings guide to hit the ground running with optimized controls and performance settings.
The Corsair headset deal in particular stands out as the kind of peripheral discount that doesn't come around constantly. Wireless gaming headsets at that price point with that feature set are worth picking up when the opportunity presents itself.
Why Sony's pricing context matters here
These deals carry more weight than a typical sale because of the direction Sony has been moving on hardware pricing. The PS5 Pro and Portal price increases earlier this year weren't reversed by Sony officially. These discounts are retailers absorbing margin to move stock, which means they're time-limited by nature.
