Persona 6 Leaked Concept Art Shows the ...

If you were hoping to track down those alleged Persona 6 screenshots that flooded the internet recently, you may be out of luck. Sega has reportedly issued copyright strikes against posts sharing the leaked images, and the Persona community is now treating those DMCA notices as the closest thing to official confirmation they have. Meanwhile, fans waiting on Grand Theft Auto 6 know this feeling all too well.

What actually leaked and why it matters

Several images allegedly showing Persona 6 character designs and a distinctive green logo began circulating online in recent days. Green is a notable departure from the red associated with Persona 5 and the blue of Persona 3, which gave the screenshots an air of plausibility right away. As with any supposed leak, there was plenty of reason to be skeptical. AI-generated art has muddied the waters on leaks across the whole industry, and the Persona fanbase has been burned by hype cycles before.

Here's the thing: the skepticism started crumbling once the copyright strikes rolled in. One user who reposted the alleged logo and in-game art went online to confirm that Sega had sent a DMCA takedown request, adding that the image was, in their words, "in fact real and not AI generated."

That single detail changed the temperature of the conversation fast.

How the Persona community is reading the DMCA moves

Reaction on the Persona subreddit split almost immediately into two camps. One side is treating the strikes as near-confirmation, with comments like "Ok the snipers are out, that kinda proves it" and "If they requested a take-down, it's probably real at this point." The other side is more measured, pointing out that publishers sometimes scrub leaks regardless of authenticity, purely to avoid setting false expectations or managing the narrative around an unannounced title.

Both takes are reasonable. Atlus and Sega have every incentive to pull down convincing-looking images whether the game is real or not. But the timing here is hard to ignore.

danger

A copyright strike against leaked content is not official confirmation. Studios regularly issue DMCA takedowns for fake or unverified material to protect their IP and control messaging.

Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase are both happening this week, and the Persona community has been primed for a big announcement for months. P-Studio head Kazuhisa Wada stated last year that the developer had "several projects in development" beyond Persona 4 Revival. The Persona 30th Anniversary website currently shows the Persona 4 Revival announcement alongside three separate "Coming Soon" slots. Three. That is not subtle.

The franchise context that makes Persona 6 feel overdue

Persona 5 Royal launched back in 2019 for PS4 and has since been ported to essentially every platform with a screen. The series has been running on Persona 5 content for the better part of a decade, with spin-offs, collaborations, and re-releases keeping the brand alive while fans waited for something genuinely new. The 30th anniversary of the franchise falling in 2026 makes this year the most logical window Atlus has had to announce a mainline sequel.

What most players miss is that Atlus rarely announces games far in advance. Persona 5 was revealed in 2013 and released in Japan in 2016. If Persona 6 gets announced at a major show this week, a 2027 release window would be entirely plausible.

The key here is that the green logo detail, if accurate, tells us something meaningful. Each mainline Persona entry has leaned hard into a signature color as part of its identity. A green-coded sequel would signal a deliberate visual break from the Persona 5 era, which is exactly what a franchise trying to move forward would want.

Persona 4 Revival is also generating its own momentum this week after picking up a new age rating ahead of the showcases. With that remake and potentially Persona 6 both in play, Atlus could be walking into Summer Game Fest with more than one announcement ready.
