Confiction Labs and Agate have released the first public demo for Riftstorm as part of the Steam Next Fest, running from June 9 through June 16. The free demo gives players access to a range of new content following the game's earlier open alpha playtest. It marks the first opportunity for a wider audience to explore Riftstorm's gameplay ahead of its eventual full release.

Four fully unlocked characters available at launch

The Steam Next Fest demo unlocks all four Weavers at level 30 from the start. Each character's full ability set is immediately accessible, though weapons still require progression through missions. This setup lets players test each Weaver's complete playstyle without grinding through early levels.

Four missions are included in the demo. Two standard combat dungeons focus on gear farming and core mechanics. The other two, Operation 1411 and Operation Marble Obelisk, offer more specialized challenges. Operation 1411 runs as a survival-extraction mode with tower defense elements. Operation Marble Obelisk follows as a final confrontation that builds on the weapons and gear you've collected in the previous mission, creating a sequential progression.

Streamlined loadout system and co-op support

The demo introduces a simplified loadout and Periapt system that cuts down on setup time. You can play solo or join up to three other players in online multiplayer co-op. The demo supports full cooperative functionality and continues Riftstorm's focus on replayable, isometric roguelite action.

Riftstorm's demo runs on Windows 10 and 11. Minimum specs require an Intel Core i3 8th generation processor, 12 GB of RAM, a GTX 1050 graphics card, and 8 GB of storage. Recommended specs bump that up to an Intel Core i3 10th generation processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 3050 graphics card. The demo is available for download through June 16.

Wishlist giveaway offers up to $10,000 in prizes

Alongside the demo, Riftstorm is running a wishlist giveaway in partnership with web3 rewards platform Raijin. Participants can earn entries toward a prize pool of up to $10,000 by interacting with the game on Steam. Wishlisting the game grants ten entries, while adding it to your Steam library adds five more.

To enter, sign up on Raijin's platform using your Steam account. The giveaway runs from June 9 to June 18 at 10 PM UTC. A total of 400 winners will be randomly selected after the event closes. Winners drawn earlier in the selection process receive a larger share of the prize pool.

The final prize pool size scales with participation. More than 2,000 participants have registered so far, placing the pool at $2,500. Around 500 more sign-ups are needed to unlock tier five, which raises the total to $5,000. Higher participation unlocks higher reward tiers, with the maximum pool reaching $10,000.
