Team Liquid has transferred its complete multimedia library to Walrus, a decentralized storage protocol running on Sui. The archive spans years of competitive footage, team content, and organizational media, now converted into onchain-compatible formats. This marks the largest data migration to Walrus so far.
The shift aims to simplify how Team Liquid's global teams access content while eliminating fragmented storage systems. Using the Sui Stack gives the organization a stable platform for building digital experiences and exploring monetization without needing to migrate data again down the line.
Streamlining search and retrieval
Blockchain-native AI platform Zark Lab powers the migration, letting Team Liquid staff search and pull files quickly across previously disconnected drives and locations. The system also supports configurable permissions, making it easier to repurpose footage for documentaries, throwback campaigns, or fan-focused projects while keeping tight control over who sees what.
Rebecca Simmonds, managing executive at the Walrus Foundation, noted the platform is "reliable at scale, fast to work with across teams, and flexible enough to support new ways of using and monetising content over time, without needing to move or rebuild data as new use cases emerge."
Treating content as a long-term asset
For Team Liquid, this isn't just about keeping files safe. It's about turning the archive into something the organization can actually use. Claire Hungate, Team Liquid's president and COO, said, "Collaborating with Walrus not only makes our content easily accessible and secure, but makes it usable as an asset. This critical infrastructure upgrade ensures our most valuable footage and memories are preserved, while giving us the technical platform to explore new ways to engage our most important stakeholders: the fans."
The move reflects a wider pattern in esports, where teams are testing web3 infrastructure to lock down content security, improve access, and open up new revenue streams.
