Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis now has a firm release date. Crystal Dynamics dropped a new trailer during the PlayStation State of Play showcase, capping it with a February 12, 2027 launch window and confirming the game will arrive in three editions.
Missing the 30th anniversary by that much
Here's the thing that stings a little: Lara Croft turns 30 in 2026, and Legacy of Atlantis was originally positioned to land within that anniversary window. The delay pushes it past that milestone entirely. Crystal Dynamics hasn't spelled out exactly what caused the slip, but the February 2027 date is now official and confirmed.
The game is being developed alongside Flying Wild Hog and built in Unreal Engine 5. Crystal Dynamics describes it as a "true reimagining" of the original 1996 Tomb Raider, bringing back the Atlantis storyline that started everything for the franchise. This isn't a remaster or a remake in the traditional sense. The studio is treating it as a complete reconstruction of that foundational story for a new generation of players.

Legacy of Atlantis world reveal
What the new trailer actually showed
The trailer laid out the narrative arc connecting back to Lara's origins, with the Atlantis mythology front and center. Visually, the UE5 build looks like a significant step up from the Survivor trilogy, though the February 2027 window gives the team several more months to push that further.
One of the bigger reveals buried in the announcement: Alix Wilton Regan is the new voice of Lara Croft, taking over from Camilla Luddington, who held the role from the 2013 reboot through Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Regan is a recognizable name to RPG fans, known for voicing Female Shepard in Mass Effect 3 and the Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition. That's a strong casting choice for a franchise trying to establish a new era.
Three editions and an early access window
Pre-orders come with 48-hour early access, so players who commit ahead of launch can get in on February 10, 2027 instead. The three editions haven't been fully detailed yet beyond their existence, but the pre-order bonus also includes the Survivor Outfit, which lets players dress Lara in the look from the 2013 reboot. It's a nice nod to the Luddington era for players who grew up with that version of the character.

Edition selection at launch
For fans of adventure games waiting on something with real production weight behind it, Legacy of Atlantis is shaping up to be one of the more interesting releases of early 2027. The combination of UE5, a narrative reimagining of the original game, and a fresh voice cast gives Crystal Dynamics a lot to work with.
