The Phasmophobia Alan Wake crossover event is the biggest the game has seen yet, and buried inside its reward pool are four secret Charms that most players completely miss. They don't appear on the main event page at all — you have to check the character customization screen just to know they exist. Each one requires finding a hidden collectible on one of the four event maps, and the spawn points rotate between a handful of fixed locations per map.
What are the secret Charms and how do you unlock them?
There are exactly four secret Charms available during the Alan Wake event, one per event map. To unlock each Charm, you need to physically find and pick up the matching collectible item hidden somewhere on that map. The Charm name matches the collectible name, so finding the Thermos item unlocks the Thermos Charm, and so on.
The key thing to understand before you start searching: these collectibles don't have a single fixed spawn point. Each item rotates between roughly four to six possible locations per map. You can't memorize one spot and call it done — you'll need to check a few spots each run until you find it.

Mr. Drippy on the lover's bench
Here's a quick overview of all four Charms and where to hunt for them:
Where to find the Mr. Drippy Mascot Charm (Coffee World)
Coffee World is the Alan Wake version of Camp Woodwind, and the Mr. Drippy Mascot collectible spawns in one of four confirmed spots around the camping area:
- On the picnic table near the white tent in the main camping area
- On the left edge of the lover's bench near the back of the map
- On a toilet inside the bathrooms next to the white tents by the fire pit
- On the cornhole game inside the first white tent close to the campfire circle
Coffee World is a relatively compact map, so checking all four spots takes under two minutes. Start at the campfire area and work outward.
Where to find the Deer Mask Charm (Cauldron Lake)
Cauldron Lake runs on the Grafton Farmhouse layout and has the most spawn variety of any map in the event — six possible locations for the Deer Mask collectible:
- In the freezer inside the kitchen on the first floor
- On a mannequin's face in the mannequin room on the first floor
- Inside the brown trunk in the primary bedroom on the second floor
- Hanging on a coat rack in the doll room on the second floor
- On top of stacked boxes to the left of the large hole in the attic roof
- On a shelf in the hallway immediately to your left when you reach the second floor
With six potential locations spread across three floors, Cauldron Lake takes the most time to search. Hit the first-floor rooms first since two of the six spots are down there, then sweep the second floor and attic.
Where to find the Lunchbox Charm (Elderwood Palace Lodge)
Elderwood Palace Lodge uses the Bleasdale Farmhouse layout. The Lunchbox collectible has five possible spawn points:
- On a green box near the back of the laundry and storage room on the first floor
- Inside a cabinet in the corner of the trophy room on the second floor
- Next to the shovel by the tree in the backyard garden area
- Underneath the bed in the witchy bedroom in the attic
- On the kitchen counter near the spilled wine on the first floor
The attic bedroom spot is easy to overlook because the Lunchbox sits under the bed rather than on a surface at eye level. Crouch and check under furniture if you've exhausted the other four locations.
Where to find the Thermos Charm (Oh Deer Diner)
Oh Deer Diner is the Alan Wake version of Nell's Diner. The Thermos collectible rotates between five locations:
- At the booths underneath the stop sign in the main dining room
- On a red box under the counter to your right, just past the double doors entering the kitchen
- In the janitor's room, underneath a yellow sign on top of the cleaning cart
- Between the security monitor screens sitting between the two filing cabinets in the manager's office
- On the counter near the coffee pot in the staff room
The kitchen entrance and manager's office spots are the ones players most commonly walk past without checking. The red box in the kitchen sits low to the ground, and the security monitors in the office are easy to scan past quickly.
How do these Charms fit into the broader event?
The four secret Charms are just one layer of the Alan Wake event's reward structure. The event also includes Doll collectibles spread across all four maps and Words of Power hidden throughout. If you're working through everything systematically, check out the full Phasmophobia Alan Wake crossover event walkthrough for a complete breakdown of how all the reward systems connect.
For the Doll collectibles specifically, which have fixed spawn points unlike the Charms, the guide to finding all Dolls and solving every Doll Puzzle covers every map in detail.
Prioritize the Charms early in the event since each one requires a dedicated map run. Don't wait until the final days to start hunting them.
