Running across Ouwland on foot in Slayers 2 gets old fast. The Horse mount is the game's answer to that problem, and it is classified as a Legendary item for good reason. You cannot buy it from any shop. You have to find it in the wild, beat a timing minigame while sitting on it, and then pay 15,000 Wen on the spot to make it yours. Here is exactly how to do all three.

What do you need before hunting a horse?

Before you chase a spawn, get your wallet sorted. The purchase prompt appears the moment you complete the minigame, and if your Wen balance is short, the horse stays wild for whoever finds it next. The game even tells you how short you are, displaying a message like Not enough wen to afford 'Horse', you need $14,675 more so you know exactly what is missing.

Finish quests until 15,000 Wen is sitting in your account, then head out. Showing up underfunded after winning the minigame is one of the more frustrating ways to waste a spawn window.

warning
Completing the taming minigame without enough Wen does not hold the horse for you. The purchase prompt fails, the horse remains unclaimed, and another player can take it immediately.

Where do horses spawn in Slayers 2?

Horses do not sit at a fixed stable. They spawn randomly in the wilderness outside the village every 20 to 30 minutes, but two areas see them far more often than anywhere else: Bamboo Grove and Windy Peak.

When a horse appears, the server broadcasts an alert telling every player that one of Farmer MoldySugar's horses has escaped. That means every other player on your server just got the same notification. Move immediately.

Spawn location 1: behind the Serpent Trainee

Teleport to the Bamboo Grove Shrine, turn left toward the Serpent Trainee Mini-Boss, then walk the ramp beside him up to the open area. Horses appear in the right corner of that clearing regularly. This is the most reliable single spot to check first.

Spawn location 2: the central bridge

From the same Bamboo Grove area, head to the large central bridge opposite the waterfall. Horses roam the area at the far end of that bridge. If the first spot is empty, check here before expanding your search.

Getting there fast

Open your map, fast travel to the Bamboo Grove Shrine, and glide toward the horse icon. Gliding from the shrine covers the distance to Windy Peak quickly and drops you close to the spawn without burning stamina sprinting.

Should you buy the Horse Spawn Locator gamepass?

There is a paid option: the Horse Spawn Locator gamepass costs 120 Robux and shows the nearest horse's position on your screen at all times. Instead of guessing which corner of the wilderness the spawn landed in, you follow a tracker icon directly to it.

The pass does not reduce the 15,000 Wen price, skip the minigame, or give you any advantage in the taming sequence itself. It purely saves you the time spent checking spawn spots manually. If you plan to tame multiple horses or just hate the scavenger hunt, it is worth considering. Casual players who only need one mount can skip it.

How to win the taming minigame

Walk up to the horse and press T to start taming. Your character mounts immediately and the minigame begins, so do not press T until you are ready.

Here is what you are actually doing:

  • White buttons appear on screen one at a time.
  • Inside each button, a ring first shrinks toward the center, then expands outward toward the button's border.
  • You need to click the button during the expansion phase, at the exact moment the expanding ring lines up with the button's edge.
  • Hit every button correctly and the taming meter fills toward 100 percent.
  • Reach 100 percent and the purchase prompt appears.

Mistiming a click gets you bucked off and costs 10 HP. There is no retry limit, so mount up again and keep going. The HP drain is the only real pressure here, so top up your health between attempts if the falls are stacking up.

important
Press T only after walking close enough that the horse does not walk away before the minigame starts. Getting bucked repeatedly from a distance wastes time and HP.

How to equip and use the horse

Once you confirm the 15,000 Wen purchase, the Horse appears in your inventory as a Legendary item. Drag it onto your hotbar, then press the corresponding number key to mount up. Press the same key again to dismount.

Mount speed is not fixed. Equipped gear can buff how fast the horse moves, so your current loadout affects travel time. Optimizing your equipment pays off beyond combat.

One practical upside: you do not need to unlock every fast travel shrine on the map if you have the horse. Riding directly to locations saves the Wen you would otherwise spend on shrine unlocks, which is worth factoring into your early progression budget.

Putting it all together

The horse acquisition loop in Slayers 2 is straightforward once you know the rhythm: bank 15,000 Wen first, watch for the server alert, fast travel to Bamboo Grove Shrine, glide to the spawn, win the timing minigame, and confirm the purchase. The only real variable is competition from other players, which the Horse Spawn Locator gamepass partially addresses if you find yourself consistently losing races to spawns.
