The desert region in Where Winds Meet begins with Jade Gate Pass, a large open area filled with quests, enemy encounters, and travel routes that stretch across sand dunes and valleys. While players can sprint across the map, stamina drains quickly, and long distances can slow progress.
This is where Boundary Stones become important. These stones act as fast travel points, letting players instantly move across Jade Gate Pass once they are unlocked. Activating them early makes exploring the desert much easier, especially with sandstorms and roaming enemies slowing down travel.
Jade Gate Pass Boundary Stones
Traveling through Jade Gate Pass can be difficult due to its sandy terrain and unpredictable hazards. Enemies sometimes appear from the ground, and sandstorms can make navigation confusing. Unlocking Boundary Stones reduces travel time and makes it easier to complete quests around the region.
There are 12 Boundary Stones scattered throughout Jade Gate Pass. Each one is usually placed near villages, camps, or major travel paths.

Karez Boundary Stone
The Karez Boundary Stone is one of the first fast travel points players can unlock in Jade Gate Pass.
It is located near the Wayfarer campsite in the village of Karez. From the Wayfarer NPC, head slightly south and the stone will be visible nearby. Because this area is commonly visited early in the region, it is usually the first Boundary Stone most players activate.
Camel Station Boundary Stone
The Camel Station Boundary Stone sits southeast of the Karez area.
Starting from the Wayfarer location, head southeast along the glowing Milky Way Path. Eventually, players will encounter several camels gathered in the desert. The Boundary Stone is located close to these camel herds in the center of the area.
Celestial Spring Station Boundary Stone
This stone can be found northwest of the Karez Wayfarer.
Follow the long Milky Way Path leading in that direction until reaching the end of the route. The Celestial Spring Station Boundary Stone is placed near this endpoint, making it a useful teleport location when exploring the northwestern section of the map.
Sanwei Valley Boundary Stone
The Sanwei Valley Boundary Stone is located in the northern corner of Jade Gate Pass.
From the Celestial Spring Station stone, travel directly north. The Boundary Stone sits inside Sanwei Valley and acts as the northern fast travel point for this part of the region.
Squarewall Hold Ruins Boundary Stone
The Squarewall Hold Ruins Boundary Stone is positioned near the southern section of the map.
Players can reach it by following the Milky Way Path south. It is located near Ayisu and close to a Divecraft Corridor puzzle entrance, making it a convenient teleport point when exploring ruins and puzzle areas.
Poplar Bazaar Boundary Stone
This Boundary Stone sits in the western part of Jade Gate Pass.
Players will first encounter Momo Temple and several merchants. From there, continue heading further west until reaching the Poplar Bazaar Boundary Stone. Many players will visit this location while completing the “Heal the Illness” profession activity.
Horsehelm Village Boundary Stone
The Horsehelm Village Boundary Stone is located near the center of the region.
It lies directly south of Camel Station and between two Milky Way Paths. The stone is also southeast of the Gold Sands River, making it one of the most convenient teleport points for moving around the central desert.
Peaceward Camp Boundary Stone
This Boundary Stone is located northeast of Horsehelm Village.
Peaceward Camp sits along a curved section of the Milky Way Paths. It is also south of the “An Unsung Name” quest encounter, which helps players recognize the location while exploring the area.
Howling Sand Outpost Boundary Stone
The Howling Sand Boundary Stone is found in the eastern part of Jade Gate Pass.
It is located south of the Howling Sand Outpost, just beyond the Milky Way Path. Players traveling from the Karez area can reach it by heading southeast through the desert.
Waithridge Pass Boundary Stone
The Waithridge Pass Boundary Stone sits close to the exit leading into the Hexi region.
Players will find it southeast of Peaceward Camp. This area is also connected to another “Heal the Illness” profession objective, making it a commonly visited location before leaving Jade Gate Pass.
Outside Whitecrown City Boundary Stone
This Boundary Stone marks one of the main transition points into the next region.
It is located near the Whitecrown City combat encounter and serves as a useful fast travel point before entering the Hexi region of the map.
Shifting Sands Boundary Stone
The Shifting Sands Boundary Stone is the hardest one to locate in Jade Gate Pass.
It lies northeast of the Karez Wayfarer, inside a powerful sandstorm. Once players enter this area, the map and tracking tools become unavailable, forcing them to navigate blindly.
To find the stone, players should follow the brief appearances of people and camels that flicker into view before disappearing into golden embers. These visual cues help guide the direction through the sandstorm until the Boundary Stone is discovered.
