Arbitrum and Karrat Foundation Reveal Studio Chain

Studio Chain, a blockchain platform designed specifically for gaming, is nearing its official launch. Built through a partnership between Arbitrum Foundation and the Karrat Foundation, the platform will use the Karrat Foundation's KARRAT coin as its native token. No firm release date has been set, but the first major title coming to Studio Chain will be My Pet Hooligan from AMGI Studios.

About My Pet Hooligan

My Pet Hooligan has already built a solid player base, pulling in 500,000 downloads on the Epic Games Store since entering early access. AMGI plans to bring the game to Xbox and more PC launchers, widening its audience. Beyond game development, AMGI specializes in AI integration and exploring how AI intersects with gaming and broader entertainment.

Strategic partnerships strengthen Studio Chain

Studio Chain will tap into AMGI's existing relationships with major tech and gaming players like Nvidia, Palantir, Epic Games, and Eleven Labs. These partnerships give Studio Chain a stronger foothold in the web3 gaming landscape, offering the tech backbone and infrastructure needed to deliver better gaming experiences.

Jack Fitzpatrick, partnerships manager at Offchain Labs, said the collaboration fits with Arbitrum's push to back the next wave of web3 gaming and entertainment. He pointed out that Studio Chain and the My Pet Hooligan franchise add meaningful content and culture to the Arbitrum ecosystem, strengthening its foothold in blockchain gaming.

Arbitrum's role in advancing web3 gaming

Arbitrum has been putting serious resources into gaming, rolling out a $220 million gaming catalyst program in 2024 to speed up blockchain game development on its network. The program aims to support developers and build out gaming infrastructure, making web3 gaming more practical and accessible.

Luke Paglia, co-founder and COO of AMGI, said working with Arbitrum opens the door to gaming experiences that weren't possible before. He explained that My Pet Hooligan is just the start, with the partnership enabling features like true in-game asset ownership, player-driven content expansions, and better interoperability between gaming ecosystems. These changes are expected to reshape how players engage with digital entertainment.
