Pearl Abyss packed Crimson Desert with hidden armor sets that reward exploration over brute force, and the Frostcursed Plate is one of the best examples. All five pieces are tucked away in north Demeniss, most of them behind waterfalls, and none of them require defeating a single major boss to claim.
The full set is built for cold-region play. It carries some of the strongest ice resistance in the game, the helm grants daze immunity, and the boots add bonus XP alongside improved climbing speed. If you're spending time in the frozen stretches of Pywel or chasing legendary horses in icy terrain, this set pulls real weight.
The five locations, in travel order
All five pieces sit relatively close together in north Demeniss, so grabbing them in sequence makes the run efficient. Here's the lowdown on where each one lives.
Cloak: Sanctum of Expiation
The Frostcursed Cloak is inside the Sanctum of Expiation, east across the river from Drakesfall Gorge in north Hernand. Clear or sneak past the enemies, find the central courtyard with the collapsing floor, and look for a side doorway with stairs leading down to red-spiked roots. Burn those roots with Blinding Flash, crawl through the passage, turn right (dodge the spike trap), and the chest at the end holds the cloak plus a Palmar Pill.
warning
The spike trap near the chest can box you in. If you get stuck, using the spikes to respawn outside is faster than waiting it out.
Helm: Chattering Rocks
Head east from the Sanctum to the Chattering Rocks, a cluster of ruined buildings centered around a pool. Near the pool, find the stone window with a ladder to its left. In the shadowy broken section of the building nearby, vines block a doorway. Burn them with Blinding Flash and open the chest inside for the Frostcursed Plate Helm.
Gloves: Lunar Spirit Grotto
Continue east from the Chattering Rocks to the Lunar Spirit Grotto, positioned behind the waterfall at the mouth of the river running toward the town of Tariv. Drop to the base of the waterfall and look for a small cairn marking the entry point. You'll need the Stab skill here: hold Shift (or RB on controller), then hold and release Left Mouse Button (or Y on controller) to punch through the waterfall. The chest inside contains the Frostcursed Plate Gloves and a Refined Palmar Pill.

Stab skill opens waterfall caves
Boots: Well of Tragedy Grotto
From the Lunar Spirit Grotto, head east down the river toward Tariv, then turn left up the next river. The Well of Tragedy Grotto waterfall sits northeast of the previous location. Same approach: find the cairn at the base, use Stab to break through, and the chest on the other side holds the Frostcursed Plate Boots.
Chest armor: Mistshard Cave
The final piece is north of the Well of Tragedy Grotto at Mistshard Cave. Another waterfall, another cairn. This one has an extra step: immediately after stabbing through the waterfall, destroy a rock blocking the path using Force Palm. Clear it, open the chest, and the Frostcursed Plate Armor (the chest piece) is yours.
What makes this set worth the detour
The key here is that the Frostcursed Plate asks for exploration skill rather than combat power. No trial, no boss, no grinding. What most players miss is that the Stab and Force Palm skills are the actual gatekeepers, meaning you need those abilities unlocked before the run is viable. If you haven't picked them up yet, that's the prerequisite to sort first.
The daze immunity on the helm alone is worth the trip for players who find crowd control effects disruptive in tougher encounters. Pair that with the climbing speed bonus on the boots and the set becomes a genuinely functional choice for exploration-heavy playthroughs, not just a cosmetic flex.
