DenDekaDen IP Coming to WEMIX Blockchain

Wemade, the South Korean gaming company known for its web3 initiatives, has partnered with Japan's Toei Animation to create a blockchain-based game inspired by the DenDekaDen intellectual property (IP). The collaboration is part of Wemade's efforts to expand its blockchain footprint through its subsidiary Wemix.

The partnership was formalized with the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The project's working title, DenDenGarden, reflects its foundation on the DenDekaDen narrative, which features seven characters with divine abilities.

NFT integration through Keshin No Kaden collection

DenDenGarden incorporates NFT functionality via the DenDekaDen: Keshin No Kaden collection. Players can acquire these digital assets on the Ethereum blockchain via Magic Eden, giving them ownership of in-game items that connect directly to the narrative and gameplay systems. The NFTs aren't just collectibles—they're designed to influence how players experience the story and interact with game mechanics.

Regional focus spans Japan, Southeast Asia, and North America

While DenDenGarden is built for a worldwide player base, the game specifically targets Japan, Southeast Asia, and North America. These markets have established gaming communities and growing web3 adoption.

Toei Animation brings decades of experience from franchises like Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Sailor Moon. That pedigree matters here—Wemade is betting that recognizable IP from a trusted animation studio will pull in players who might otherwise skip blockchain games. The strategy is simple: use proven characters and stories to make blockchain adoption feel less experimental and more like a natural extension of existing fandoms.

No release date yet, but both companies confirm active development

DenDenGarden combines narrative-driven gameplay with NFT ownership and blockchain infrastructure. Toei Animation handles the creative direction while Wemade manages the technical backend. Neither company has announced a launch window, but both have confirmed the project is in active development with plans to deliver what they describe as a distinctive web3 gaming experience.
