What's new on the field this year
The headline addition is Dynasty Blueprint, a revamped system that puts you in direct control of how your program develops. You'll manage Athletic Director Expectations while spending Dynasty Points across recruiting, NIL deals, staff upgrades, and facilities. It's a more structured approach to program-building than College Football 26 offered, with clearer cause-and-effect between your budget decisions and on-field results.
Road to Glory gets meaningful attention too. The mode now supports additional positions beyond the usual quarterback focus, and the customization options have been expanded. You're still chasing the Heisman, building Draft Stock, and stacking NIL deals, but the path there now has more variables to manage through a new Legacy Score system.
The wildcard addition is Mascot Mashup, a mode that lets you field a roster of over 120 mascot characters in full 11-on-11 games. It leans hard into spectacle over simulation, which is a sharp contrast to the depth being added elsewhere. Think of it as the answer to "what if college football had a party mode."
Deluxe Edition buyers who pre-order before June 16 get an 83 OVR BND Cornerstones player item on top of the standard pre-order bonuses.
Three editions, three price points
Here's how the editions break down:
The MVP Bundle is the only way to get both College Football 27 and Madden NFL 27 in a single purchase, and at $149.99 it works out cheaper than buying both Deluxe editions separately. The key here is that the Madden side of the bundle includes 4600 Madden Points and an Ultimate Team Evo item, so it's a reasonable deal if you play both franchises.

Road to Glory position options
From College Football 25 to 27: how the series has moved
EA Sports College Football 25 was the franchise's return after an 11-year absence, and it leaned heavily on nostalgia and the sheer novelty of college football being back. College Football 26 tightened the gameplay and expanded Dynasty. College Football 27 appears to be the first entry where EA is building genuinely new structural systems rather than restoring what was there before.
Dynasty Blueprint in particular looks like a response to player feedback that program management felt too passive. Whether it delivers in practice is something only the full release will answer, but the direction is right.
The PC debut via Steam is also worth flagging. College Football 25 launched console-only, and bringing the series to Steam opens it to a platform that the franchise has never had a real presence on.
If you're coming in fresh or want to sharpen your College Football 26 skills before the sequel drops, the EA Sports College Football 26 beginner's guide covers offense, defense, and team-building fundamentals that carry over between entries. College Football 27 pre-orders are live now, with the Deluxe early access window putting the game in players' hands on July 6.
