Forgotten Runiverse Approved on Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox

Bisonic, the developer behind the pixel-art fantasy MMORPG Forgotten Runiverse, recently concluded its in-game event, Crash the Runiverse. The event ran from January 14th at 11:00 AM ET to January 17th at 5:00 PM ET, giving players the opportunity to engage with new gameplay mechanics, earn exclusive rewards, and contribute to the game's ongoing development.

Alongside the event, Bisonic confirmed that Forgotten Runiverse would be launching on all three major gaming consoles: Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox. This expansion is expected to introduce the blockchain-powered MMORPG to a wider audience, further growing its player base ahead of the full release.

What is Forgotten Runiverse?

Forgotten Runiverse is based on the lore of the popular NFT collection Forgotten Runes Wizard's Cult. This free-to-play, pixel art MMORPG allows players to engage in collaborative gameplay, contributing to the game’s evolving narrative. The franchise extends beyond gaming, featuring a globally distributed comic series, an upcoming animated TV series, and a substantial digital collectibles ecosystem valued at $110 million.

The game encourages community involvement, enabling players to shape the gameplay journey by contributing lore and using in-game plots. In Forgotten Runiverse, players can form guilds, embark on PvE expeditions, and engage in PvP battles, all while crafting items and gathering resources. The game is being developed by Bisonic, Inc. and Magic Machine.

More About Magic Machine

Magic Machine, founded in 2021, is the creative studio behind Forgotten Runes. It aims to disrupt traditional media through decentralized ownership and community engagement, fostering co-creation within its entertainment franchises.

Recap of the Crash the Runiverse Event

During the event, new and returning players were provided with tools to progress quickly. Participants logged in through the official website and were able to visit the Fairy NPC in the central town area to automatically level up to 20. This instant boost granted access to spells, materials, and equipment necessary for taking on the event’s challenges.

Players visited the Forge and Mage Workshop to inscribe items and enhance their gear before venturing into dungeons. These dungeons served as the primary setting for players to test their skills, battle opponents, and earn event-exclusive rewards. Many of these rewards will carry over into the game’s full release, providing long-term benefits to those who took part.

Success in the Blockchain Gaming Space

In 2024, Forgotten Runiverse was recognized as the top-ranked RPG on DappRadar, cementing its status as a prominent title in the blockchain gaming sector. During its Open Beta Test, the game recorded over 967,000 unique active wallets and more than 1.4 million gameplay hours, demonstrating its strong engagement and appeal.

Crash the Runiverse served as one of the final large-scale testing phases before the game's official launch. The event allowed players to explore new features, provide feedback, and earn valuable in-game rewards. With Forgotten Runiverse set to debut on Nintendo, PlayStation, and Xbox, it is poised to expand beyond the web3 gaming community and attract a broader audience of MMORPG players.
