Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 is running one of the most sprawling seasonal quests the battle royale has ever attempted, and the Chaos Cube hunt is right at the center of it. Players are tasked with tracking down small, glowing orange cubes scattered across multiple points of interest, and Sandy Strip alone hides five of them.
The tricky part? Three sit inside the main POI, but the other two are tucked away in the surrounding wilderness. Without knowing exactly where to look, you can spend an entire match wandering the desert and come up empty.
Where Sandy Strip sits on the Chapter 7 map
Sandy Strip occupies the far eastern edge of the Chapter 7 Season 2 island, sitting just west of Fore Fields. The POI itself has a distinctly urban desert feel, with glass buildings, marble architecture, and even underground tunnel networks running beneath it. That last detail matters, because one of the five cubes is buried down there.
Once you get close enough to any cube, a white diamond icon appears on screen to help you zero in. The key here is knowing the general area to check first, since the map gives you nothing more specific than the region name.
The five cube locations, broken down
Here is exactly where each of the five Sandy Strip Chaos Cubes is hiding.
- Cube 1: Inside a glass building south of Sandy Strip, slightly east of the main road. Take the ascender down to the secret area below, go through the door on the right, and check the far corner of the room.
- Cube 2: Inside the building with red and white striped awnings near the bottom right corner of the POI. Head to the second floor and look for it sitting on a game table.
- Cube 3: The white marble building near the northeastern edge of Sandy Strip. Walk into the sauna room and the cube is on the ground.
- Cube 4: Upper left corner of the POI. This one is out in the open on a bench on a balcony, making it one of the easier finds.
- Cube 5: The most hidden of the bunch. Head west of the main Sandy Strip area until you find a small grey building. Drop down the ascender inside, take the stairs in the next section, then turn right and run to the end of the tunnel. Drop into the small secret area at the end to grab it.
The fifth cube in the Collider Corridor tunnel is the one most players skip entirely. If your quest tracker shows four collected but the Sandy Strip objective is still incomplete, that underground route west of the POI is where you need to go.
What completing this quest actually gets you
The Chaos Cube quest is not a single-step errand. Across Chapter 7 Season 2, players need to track down cubes at eight different POIs, with 70 total Chaos Cubes spread across the island. Completing the full collection earns 80,000 XP, plus access to additional special prizes tied to the overarching seasonal quest.
Sandy Strip's five cubes are one piece of that larger puzzle. The same quest chain sends players to locations like Ripped Tides, New Sanctuary, and Elites Outpost, each with their own set of hidden cubes and their own awkward hiding spots.
What most players miss is that the cubes do not respawn between matches, so if you grab all five in one landing, that portion of the quest is permanently cleared. No need to revisit.
For a full breakdown of every cube location across all eight POIs, the complete Chaos Cubes location guide covers the entire island in detail. Players working through the Elites Outpost portion can also check the dedicated Elites Outpost and Treechopped Timbermill cube guide for that specific set.
