Chaos Cube quests keep rolling out across Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2, and the Elites Outpost and Treechopped Timbermill version is one of the trickier ones. Neither location shows up on the map by name since both are Landmarks rather than named POIs, which means the game gives you a region to search but no marker to aim at. You need to collect 5 Chaos Cubes total to complete this quest and bank the XP.
Where are Elites Outpost and Treechopped Timbermill on the map?
Both Landmarks sit in the far northwest corner of the Chapter 7 Season 2 island. The easiest way to orient yourself is to drop north of Squibbly Shores or southwest of Wonkeeland. The Elites Outpost building sits toward the west end of this region, and Treechopped Timbermill is directly north of it along the river.
Because neither spot is labeled on the map, a lot of players fly straight past this area or land too far east. Lock in on the northwest corner and you will be in the right zone.

Drop here early in the match when the zone is quiet. This area is off the main rotation for most players, so you can find chaos cubes and collect all five without getting third-partied.
All Chaos Cube locations at Elites Outpost and Treechopped Timbermill
Here is every Chaos Cube in order, moving roughly south to north through the region.
Cube 1: Wooden cabin near the southeast water's edge
The first cube sits on a red couch inside a small wooden cabin near the southeast end of this region. The cabin is close to the water, and The Visitor NPC wanders around inside. Hard to miss once you spot the cabin, but the cube blends into the furniture if you are not looking carefully.
Cube 2: Fallen tree bridge by the shed
Head northwest toward the river that runs below Wonkeeland. The second cube rests on a fallen-over tree bridge next to a small shed right along the riverbank. It is out in the open, so this one is quick to grab.
Cube 3: Inside a tent south of Elites Outpost
This is the one that trips people up. The third cube is hidden inside a tent positioned directly south of the main Elites Outpost building, right by the river and some fishing gear. You have to break the tent with your pickaxe to access it. Walk past without swinging and you will miss it entirely.
Do not skip the tent. It looks like empty camp gear from a distance. Swing your pickaxe at it to reveal the Chaos Cube inside.
Cube 4: North end of the Elites Outpost building
The fourth cube is right at the north end of the large Elites Outpost building on the west side of the region. No tricks here. Check the exterior of the building along its northern face and you will find it.
Cube 5: Top of the metal ramp at Treechopped Timbermill
The final cube is up on the metal ramp at Treechopped Timbermill, which sits directly north of the Elites Outpost building. Climb the ramp to the top and collect it. This is the most visible cube of the five once you know where the Timbermill actually is.
What do you get for collecting all five Chaos Cubes?
Completing this quest earns you XP toward your Chapter 7 Season 2 battle pass progression. Chaos Cube quests are repeatable across different map regions, so finishing this one lets you move on to the next batch. Other active Chaos Cube quest zones include areas around Ripped Tides, giving you plenty of additional XP to chase.
Knock out this quest in a low-traffic mode if the northwest corner keeps getting contested. The cubes do not despawn mid-match, so you have time to work through all five without rushing.
