The Fancy Ragdoll Sidekick dropped into Fortnite on October 16, 2026, and it's one of the more charming companions to hit the Item Shop during Fortnitemares. Described by Epic as "the sweetest little fluffy friend," this feline Sidekick belongs to the Chic Cat set and comes with a surprisingly deep customization system. There's also a rumor floating around that she's modeled after streamer SypherPK's cat Mika, though Epic hasn't confirmed anything. Whether that's true or not, the cat is cute, the customization options are extensive, and the shop window closes fast.

How to buy the Fancy Ragdoll Sidekick

The process is straightforward, but there's one step most players rush through that they'll regret later. More on that in the customization section below.

  1. Launch Fortnite and open the Item Shop from the main lobby.
  2. Navigate to the Hot Drops tab.
  3. Scroll to the Fancy Ragdoll section and select the Sidekick tile.
  4. Confirm the price reads 1,200 V-Bucks before proceeding.
  5. Press and hold the Purchase button until the circle fills completely.
  6. Wait for the on-screen confirmation that the item has been added to your locker.
  7. Open your locker, find the Sidekick slot, and equip Fancy Ragdoll.

If you can't locate it in the client, the official Fortnite web Item Shop carries the same listing. Purchases made there land in your locker at your next login.

What customization options does Fancy Ragdoll have?

This is where most guides skip the detail that actually matters. Fancy Ragdoll has one of the deepest pattern customization systems of any cat Sidekick released so far, with options across fur styles, body build, torso and extremities, lynx markings, saddle and blaze patterns, plus ears and nose. The math works out to roughly 6.48 million possible combinations.

The catch: your choices are permanent. Once you press and hold the Lock-In button, your Fancy Ragdoll's appearance is set forever. Epic's own support documentation confirms there is no way to undo this. The lock-in system has been part of Sidekicks since they debuted in Chapter 6 Mini Season 2, and it's what makes every player's companion genuinely unique.

If you want a second look, you can purchase an additional copy of Fancy Ragdoll and give it a different configuration. Every Sidekick customization in your locker must be distinct.

All Fancy Ragdoll Sidekick bonus rewards

Owning Fancy Ragdoll starts a bonus reward track powered by Sidekick Points. Equip the Sidekick and play any match across Battle Royale, Zero Build, Reload, OG, or other supported modes. Points accumulate simply by having the Sidekick equipped while you play. Epic also runs Fancy Ragdoll-specific reward quests that speed up point accumulation, tracked in the Quests tab.

The October 23 deadline only applies to purchasing the Sidekick. Once it's in your locker, the reward track has no expiration. Fortnitemares 2026 runs until October 31, which means you have event quests running in parallel, giving you more reasons to stay in matches and stack points faster.

Is Fancy Ragdoll worth buying?

Fancy Ragdoll is a cosmetic-only item. Opponents can't see your Sidekick, and it provides zero gameplay advantage. What you're paying for is the companion experience and the bonus cosmetics on the reward track.

At 1,200 V-Bucks, it sits at the same price point as every other cat Sidekick Epic has released. The customization depth is genuinely the strongest argument for this one. If you've been collecting Sidekicks, Fancy Ragdoll is the sixth cat in the lineup, following The Best Cat, Cupid Kitty, Toony Tabby, Meowdas Sphynx, and Fractal Cat. The Chic Beret style unlock and the Laser Hunter emote are solid additions to any locker regardless.

If you want something more seasonally appropriate, the Fractal Cat Sidekick leans harder into the Fortnitemares aesthetic. But Fancy Ragdoll's pattern options make it the more versatile long-term pick.

More Fortnite Sidekick guides

Sidekicks have become one of the more interesting cosmetic systems in Fortnite, with free options available alongside paid ones. If you're looking to expand your collection without spending V-Bucks, the Panda Team Jr Sidekick is earnable for free by completing Cuddles and Chaos quests. For paid companions, Rush is Mega Man's robotic dog and comes with his own quest rewards and bundle options, while Spyro the Dragon Sidekick costs 1,500 V-Bucks and includes style variants for Chapter 7 Season 4 collectors.

For a full breakdown of every Sidekick available and what each one requires, the Fortnite guides collection has you covered.
