The game is built on Proof of Play’s blockchain infrastructure, a technology backed by venture capital firm a16z. Proof of Play is also known for developing the on-chain RPG Pirate Nation. Gigaverse will be the first third-party game to utilize this infrastructure, which aims to support large-scale blockchain applications.
