Gods Unchained has kicked off its second season of Formats, launching November 4, 2024. This season rolls out a series of community-driven game modes that shake up the usual competitive grind, pushing players to experiment with new strategies while earning rewards through NFT-based gameplay.
What is Gods Unchained?
Gods Unchained is a web3 trading card game built on Immutable that gives players actual ownership of their in-game items. It blends the permanence of physical cards with the convenience of digital collectibles. Players earn, trade, sell, and collect NFT cards to assemble strategic decks and compete in skill-based multiplayer matches. The game is directed by Chris Clay, who previously helmed Magic The Gathering Arena, and attracts a dedicated daily community of trading card enthusiasts and web3 users.

Gods Unchained Season 2 Brings Big Rewards
Introducing Formats Season 2
The Formats feature in Gods Unchained operates on a rotating schedule, cycling through different game modes with distinct restrictions and challenges. These modes deliver fresh experiences for veterans and newcomers alike, encouraging creative deck-building while offering a break from standard Ranked play. Season 2 opens with Pauper Mode, designed to level the playing field and reward strategic thinking over card rarity.
- Pauper Mode (November 4 - November 15): Players can only use common cards. The 1.2x reward multiplier makes this mode accessible for newer players with smaller collections while challenging veterans to build competitive decks from a limited card pool.
- Underdog Mode (November 18 - November 22): This community-requested format bans the 500 most-played cards in Ranked matches. Removing these staples forces players to dig deeper into their collections and discover unconventional strategies. This mode also carries a 1.2x reward multiplier.
- Flashback Genesis (November 25 - December 6): This nostalgic format brings back the classic Genesis card set, letting players construct decks from this foundational collection. The 1.5x reward multiplier rewards long-time fans eager to compete with these iconic cards.
- Singleton Mode (December 9 - December 13): Decks can only include one copy of each card. This restriction demands flexibility and adaptability, stripping away the consistency that duplicate cards provide in standard play. Singleton Mode offers a 1.2x reward multiplier.
- Flashback Divine Order (December 16 - December 24): The season closes with the Divine Order card set making its return. This high-stakes format pairs competitive gameplay with nostalgia, complete with a 1.5x reward multiplier for players who master these classic cards.
