Mighty Bear Games, the Singapore-based game developer, has announced a strategic partnership with the Web3 game marketplace, Treasure, to migrate its soon-to-be-launched game, Mighty Action Heroes, to the Arbitrum blockchain. This shift from Polygon to Arbitrum is scheduled to occur just before the game's open beta, which starts at 5 p.m. Pacific on July 13. The open beta will be the first instance where the game is accessible without any restrictions.
This hasn't been the first nor last web3 game to shift to Arbitrum as Kuroro Beasts joined TreasureDAO back in December. Until now, Mighty Action Heroes was only accessible to holders of Genesis Pass and Big Bear Syndicate non-fungible tokens (NFTs). However, the open beta will open the game to a wider audience, enabling them to offer feedback on the game's on-chain and off-chain capabilities. The game and its associated NFT collections will be available on Treasure's NFT marketplace, where trading will be facilitated via the MAGIC token.
Mighty Bear Games CEO Simon Davis explained that the Treasure ecosystem runs on Arbitrum, creating a natural synergy between the blockchain and Treasure's platform. The tight integration between the two made the partnership an obvious choice.
By joining Treasure's NFT marketplace community, which includes over 100,000 active players, and moving to Arbitrum, Mighty Bear Games aims to build its first Web3 title around accessible gameplay and a sustainable in-game economy.
Arbitrum is a Layer 2 network that operates on top of Ethereum's base layer. Davis noted that Arbitrum's active developer ecosystem and engaged community were key factors in the decision. The network's speed, low transaction fees, and open architecture also played a significant role in attracting Mighty Bear Games to the platform.
The open beta of Mighty Action Heroes will feature eight new heroes, an elaborate item crafting system, and tradable in-game items found in supply crates. The crates contain rewards or crafting materials used to make grenades that players can use to defeat opponents.
Mighty Bear Games recognizes the importance of player feedback for enriching Mighty Action Heroes and has partnered with Treasure to ensure its community becomes active participants in the game's development process.
The open beta of Mighty Action Heroes will be playable via a wallet of the player's choice, with alternative email login options in development. To address any queries regarding the partnership and Mighty Action Heroes, Mighty Bear Games and Treasure will host an AMA session on July 11 at 7 a.m. Pacific time.
The company has also announced the next phase of the Mighty Action Heroes play test with the Android APK, which will be released on August 16. Currently, Mighty Bear Games has a team of 44 employees spread across nine countries.
TreasureDAO continues to cement itself within Arbitrum's gaming ecosystem, with several games jumping over and even through establishing their own gaming studio, Darkbright Studios, to handle their signature NFT collection's game, the Smolverse.
