Mario Kart World | Nintendo | Fandom

If you've been cruising through the open world in Mario Kart World with your ears fully tuned in, you already know the free roam soundtrack hits differently. Now there's even more of it on Nintendo Music.

Nintendo has updated the Mario Kart World album on its music streaming app with two new batches of Free Roam tracks, pulling from the GameCube classic Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and the GBA title Mario Kart: Super Circuit. Both packs dropped on June 21, 2026, giving subscribers 16 additional tracks to stream outside the game.

What landed in the latest update

The Super Circuit pack brings eight tracks covering the full range of that game's course themes:

  1. Peach Circuit
  2. Shy Guy Beach
  3. Riverside Park
  4. Bowser Castle
  5. Cheese Land
  6. Ribbon Road
  7. Yoshi Desert
  8. Rainbow Road

The Double Dash!! pack matches that count with eight tracks of its own, including a bonus that fans will appreciate:

  1. Luigi Circuit
  2. Baby Park
  3. Dry Dry Desert
  4. Mushroom Bridge
  5. Sherbet Land
  6. Bowser's Castle
  7. Rainbow Road
  8. Staff Credits

That Staff Credits inclusion is a nice touch. It's one of the most beloved tracks in the entire series, so seeing it make the cut here feels right.

tip
Both Free Roam track packs are available now on Nintendo Music as part of the Mario Kart World album. A Nintendo Switch Online subscription is required to access the app.

The week before: a Mario-heavy drop

This update didn't arrive in isolation. The week prior, Nintendo Music added a separate wave of Free Roam songs pulling from a much broader slice of Mario history. That batch included tracks from New Super Mario Bros., New Super Mario Bros. Wii, New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario Maker, and Mario Paint, totaling 13 songs across those five games.

Some highlights from that earlier drop include the Underwater BGM from New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the Castle Boss theme from the same game, and both Paint Mode 1 and Flyswatter Level 1 from the wonderfully strange Mario Paint. It's the kind of deep catalog pull that reminds you just how much music Nintendo has sitting in its archive.

A bigger picture for Nintendo Music

The momentum on Nintendo Music right now is real. Beyond the Mario Kart World additions, Nintendo recently loaded the full Donkey Kong Bananza soundtrack onto the app, a massive 229-track collection running over eight hours.

Here's the thing: Nintendo Music started as a fairly modest offering, but the pace of new additions has picked up noticeably since Mario Kart World launched on Switch 2. The free roam format in particular seems to be driving a new category of music content on the app, where tracks are presented as their own listening experience rather than just background noise tied to a race.

For players spending serious time in Mario Kart World's open world, having those course-inspired arrangements available on demand is a genuine quality-of-life addition. The Double Dash!! and Super Circuit eras are especially well-represented in the game's retro track roster, so hearing those themes reimagined in free roam form adds another layer to the experience.

For everything else happening in the game, the Mario Kart World guides collection covers the tracks, shortcuts, and mechanics worth knowing. Broader tips across Nintendo's Switch 2 lineup are also available in the gaming guides hub if you're looking to go deeper on any other titles in your library.
