Pokemon GO's 10th anniversary month has been relentless. Between Super Mega Raids, timed research quests, exclusive Legendaries, and a Zeraora giveaway, Niantic and Scopely have been throwing content at players faster than most can keep up. Now, sitting on top of that pile, is a live promo code that any player can redeem right now for free items.
The context matters here. Global GO Fest 2026 kicked off on July 10 with a Times Square event that drew some heat from the community. The exclusive Mega Mewtwo X tied to that event was invite-only, which left a lot of players feeling locked out of a major milestone moment. The response from the game's organizers has been to open things up considerably, with free Mega Mewtwo access via Super Mega Raids and a branching Genetic Mastery Timed Research quest available to all players at no cost until 7 pm local time today, July 12.
The promo code is part of that same goodwill push.

The code, what it gives you, and the one catch
The active code is 62EGDH625ABMP. Redeeming it nets you 100 Link Charges and 15 Poke Balls, both completely free. This is the first of two GO Fest promo codes being released across July 11 and 12, with a second code confirmed for tomorrow carrying the same rewards.
Here is the thing: the code will not work if your Link Charges are already maxed out. If that happens, the game throws up an error message reading "This Gift Card code or promotional code is invalid, or you do not qualify for the promotion." It is not actually invalid, your inventory is just full. Spend some down before redeeming.
No other eligibility restrictions have been confirmed. The expiration date for the code has not been officially stated, so redeeming it sooner rather than later is the safer play.
Everything else on the table before tonight's deadline
The promo code is genuinely the smallest item on today's freebie list. The Genetic Mastery Timed Research quest, which expires at 7 pm local time tonight, lets players choose a branching path toward either Mega Mewtwo X or Mega Mewtwo Y and collect the Mega Energy needed to evolve their Mewtwo. That quest is free for everyone.
Separately, the A Thunderous Discovery Special Research quest, which rewards a free Zeraora, has no expiration date once claimed. You will want to grab it before the GO Fest event window closes tonight, though, since it needs to be picked up during the event even if completion can happen later.
What the rest of July looks like
The month does not slow down after GO Fest wraps. A special Gimmighoul carrying a coin with a 10 on its back, tied to the game's 10th anniversary, is available until the end of July. There is also a Legendary Pokemon event incoming, and on July 21, the Assistant Pikachu event goes live, featuring a Pikachu dressed as Professor Willow. That event window is short, so it is worth marking the date.
For players who enjoy monster-catching games with a different twist, blockchain Monster Hunt takes a similar premise into web3 territory and is worth a look if the genre appeals to you. The second GO Fest promo code drops tomorrow, July 13. Keep an eye on Pokemon GO's official social channels for when it goes live.
