Ronin Network Continues to Dominate Web3 Gaming

Sky Mavis' Ronin network has solidified its position as the leading gaming-specific blockchain, surpassing an impressive milestone of 20 million total unique wallets. This achievement highlights Ronin's dominance in the blockchain gaming sector, propelled by the growth of social RPG Pixels and the enduring popularity of Axie Infinity.

What is the Ronin Network?

In the dynamic realm of web3 gaming, the Ronin network emerges as a game-changer, providing an innovative solution to longstanding challenges in the blockchain gaming space.

Developed by Sky Mavis, the visionary mind behind Axie Infinity, Ronin is a blockchain designed to enhance the gaming experience, tackling issues such as high gas fees and sluggish transaction speeds on Ethereum.

Pixels, a social RPG game on the Ronin network, has been a significant driver of this growth, reaching 1 million daily active user wallets (DAUWs) in May. Concurrently, Axie Infinity, another flagship game by Sky Mavis, more than doubled its daily active user wallets, hitting 45,000 during the same period.

These gains are further supported by various airdrop events, tournaments, and NFT mints on Ronin, involving third-party games such as Apeiron, Ragnarok: Monster World, and Wild Forest.

Other Web3 Gaming Chains

Other gaming blockchains are also witnessing notable activity. Immutable, with its zkEVM blockchain, has reached 2.5 million wallets and 1.9 million total accounts. This growth is attributed to airdrop campaigns for new games like Hunters On-Chain and the squad RPG Guild of Guardians. Immutable’s rewards campaign, The Main Quest, offers daily free gems to new users, bolstering its user base.

Wemix, another prominent platform, currently hosts 70 games, with Wemade’s MMORPG Night Crows being the largest, boasting over 400,000 players. This activity has resulted in Wemix accumulating 1.1 million active wallets.

In comparison, Mythical Games’ Mythos Chain, in the midst of migrating from Ethereum to Polkadot, has amassed 800,000 total unique wallets. This is largely driven by the success of its mobile football game, NFL Rivals.

Final Thoughts

Sky Mavis’ Ronin network continues to lead the charge in the blockchain gaming world, with substantial contributions from its flagship titles and ongoing community engagement through events and new game releases. As the web3 gaming landscape evolves, other platforms like Immutable, Wemix, and Mythos are also making significant strides, each contributing to the dynamic and rapidly growing sector.
