Spider-Man: Brand New Day opens in theaters on July 31, and the question every Marvel fan asks before the credits roll is already answered: yes, there is a post-credits scene. The catch? You might almost miss it.

Where the scene actually hides

Here's the thing: Brand New Day pulls a quiet one on the audience. There is no mid-credits scene sitting between the stylized credits and the full scroll. Anyone who bails early expecting something in that usual window will walk out empty-handed. The actual post-credits scene shows up after the studio logos at the very end, which means you are sitting through the full runtime of credits and then some before it appears.

If you need to leave early, you can. Missing it is not catastrophic. But if you can hold out until the lights come on, you will catch it.

How it stacks up against past Spider-Man stingers

The Tom Holland Spider-Man films have a mixed track record with post-credits material. Spider-Man: Homecoming used the slot for a joke, a Captain America PSA about patience that was funny precisely because it meant nothing. Spider-Man: Far From Home went the other direction entirely, using a mid-credits scene to blow open Peter Parker's secret identity to the world, a reveal significant enough that some argued it belonged in the film itself. That same film had a second scene revealing Nick Fury was actually the Skrull Talos the whole time, setting up future MCU threads.

Spider-Man: No Way Home gave us Venom getting zapped back to his universe while leaving a fragment of the symbiote behind, a tease that still has not been fully paid off.

Brand New Day lands somewhere in the middle of that range. It is a proper tease rather than a joke, and it does point toward something meaningful in Marvel's upcoming slate. The key here is that it will not surprise anyone who has been following Marvel's announced projects. If you have been keeping tabs on what is coming next in the MCU, the scene will feel like confirmation rather than revelation.

tip
The post-credits scene appears after the studio logos at the very end of the film, not between the stylized and full credits. Plan your bathroom break accordingly.

What this means for the MCU going forward

Marvel has been more deliberate with post-credits scenes since the multiverse era began. The days of every stinger being a seismic shift are largely behind us, and Brand New Day reflects that. The scene functions as connective tissue rather than a bombshell, threading Brand New Day into whatever comes next without demanding you recontextualize everything you just watched.

That is not a criticism. A well-placed tease that respects the film you just saw is more satisfying than a reveal that overshadows it. Brand New Day apparently keeps its biggest moments inside the runtime where they belong.

If you are a Tom Holland Spider-Man fan who also plays the web-slinger in other formats, the Spider-Man Marvel Rivals guide covers everything you need to master his combos and mobility in Marvel Rivals while the Brand New Day hype is at its peak.

For players who enjoy dissecting story endings and what they set up, the 007 First Light ending explained guide is worth a read as a companion piece on how modern action franchises handle narrative payoffs. More breakdowns like that live across our gaming guides hub.

Brand New Day opens July 31. Sit tight through the logos.
