Türkiye's mobile market shows consistent expansion, with substantial activity across downloads and player engagement. Analysis of data from 5,000 partner apps spanning January 2023 through July 2025 reveals how Turkish players engage with mobile apps and games. By the close of 2024, Türkiye secured eighth place worldwide for mobile app downloads, logging 3.66 billion downloads and a cumulative 101.5 billion hours spent within apps. Forecasts indicate mobile app revenue in the country will climb to $1.65 billion by 2029.

Mobile Games Driving the Market

Mobile games play a pivotal role in Türkiye's digital entertainment sector. Mobile game revenue is set to hit $427.5 million in 2025, accounting for nearly half the nation's overall video game earnings. Turkish-made games draw over 30 million domestic players and extend their reach to international audiences. Dream Games, creator of the widely played Royal Match, leads the country's game development scene.

Growth Patterns and Player Activity

Mobile game installs in Türkiye jumped 12% year-on-year during 2024, while sessions climbed 8%. The first half of 2025 brought a 4% rise in installs and a 12% surge in sessions versus the prior year. These figures outpace the global market, which posted just a 1% uptick in installs and a 2% gain in sessions. The MENAT region expanded by 9% across both metrics in the same timeframe. Activity peaked in January and March, with January delivering 23% more installs and 9% additional sessions, and March contributing 12% more installs alongside 10% more sessions.

Certain game genres fueled much of this expansion. Adventure games surged 89% year-on-year in downloads, while Idle RPG and RPG games climbed 55% and 37%, respectively. Session growth peaked with Racing games at 53%, Casual games at 50%, and both Hypercasual and Idle RPG at 44%. Top genres by downloads included Hypercasual, Hybridcasual, and Action, whereas sessions concentrated in Music, Action, Idle RPG, and Strategy games.

Player Engagement and Retention Trends

Average session duration in the first half of 2025 hit 32.8 minutes, up from 31.1 minutes in 2024 and 31.4 minutes in 2023. This exceeds both the MENAT regional average of 30.5 minutes and the worldwide average of 29.9 minutes. Strategy, Board, and Puzzle games logged the longest average play sessions, indicating deeper engagement in genres demanding sustained attention.

Even with extended play sessions, retention rates in Türkiye trail global standards. Day-1 retention stood at 19%, Day-7 at 5%, Day-14 at 3%, and Day-30 at 1%. Global figures run higher: Day-1 at 26%, Day-7 at 12%, and Day-30 at 5%. Card games, Family games, and Puzzle games outperformed other genres for Day-1 retention, each holding around 23 to 25%. Turkish players invest more time per session but show less consistency in returning to games compared to the global player base.
