Kodama are one of the first collectibles players should focus on in Nioh 3. Each Kodama found in a region boosts passive bonuses like damage dealt, damage reduction, and item benefits. In the Warring States area, there are 7 Kodama total, all found on the first main map. None are missable, and all can be collected during normal progression.

Kodama 1 – Inside the Broken Roof
The first Kodama is found very early in the Warring States map. Look for a small, damaged rooftop structure. Drop down through the opening to reach a hidden room. Clear the enemy if needed, then interact with the Kodama. If this is the first Kodama collected, the game introduces how Kodama work and sends it back to the shrine.

Kodama 2 – On the Rock Formation
The second Kodama sits on top of a small rock formation not far from the first location. There is an enemy camp nearby, but the Kodama itself is easy to spot once players look upward. Interact with it and send it back to the shrine.

Kodama 3 – Inside an Enemy Base
This Kodama is located inside a nearby enemy base. Enemy bases require clearing all enemies before rewards unlock. After defeating everyone in the camp, head toward the chest area. The Kodama is right next to it, along with bonus loot for completing the base.

Kodama 4 – Second Enemy Base Area
Another enemy base holds the fourth Kodama. This time, players need to defeat around seven enemies. Once the area is cleared, move behind the camp toward the chest location. The Kodama is nearby and can be collected immediately after.

Kodama 5 – Follow the Cat Spirit
The fifth Kodama is south of the starting area. Begin from the nearby shrine and look for a small cat spirit. Following it leads directly toward the Kodama. This section involves a few short platforming jumps. Double jumping is important here, especially on the second and third gaps. Once across, the Kodama is waiting at the end.

Kodama 6 – Small Enemy Camp
This Kodama is located slightly east of the previous one, in a small area occupied by enemies. Players can either clear the enemies or sneak in and grab the Kodama quickly. Clearing the camp is recommended for extra experience, but it is not required.

Kodama 7 – On a Rooftop Near the Boss Path
The final Kodama is close to the route leading toward the area’s boss. It sits on the edge of a rooftop and can be easy to miss if approaching from the wrong angle. Look for a ladder leading up to the building. Climb it to reach the roof and collect the Kodama before moving on.
