Muay Thai arrived in Bizarre Lineage with Update 1 as one of the new Fighting Styles, and getting it takes more than just finding the right NPC. There's a proper multi-stage questline standing between you and the Art of 8 Limbs, including enemy grinding, World Events, and a boss duel. Here's everything you need to know to get through it without wasting time.
How do you start the Muay Thai questline?
Head to Bus Stop 2 and cross the street. Rodtang (also called Rodtang the Iron Man) stands near the Yakuza NPC spawns and Zuleima. Interact with him to kick off the Mastering Muay Thai questline. The starting requirement is straightforward: pay him $100 in in-game cash.
If your wallet is running low, sell spare inventory items to the Rahaj NPC at his shop directly across from Bus Stop 1, or knock out a few quick quests to build up funds first.
info
Sort out your cash before talking to Rodtang. Having $100 ready means you can start Quest 1 immediately without backtracking.

Mastering Muay Thai: all quest stages explained
The questline runs across 7 stages total, though several of them resolve automatically when you return to Rodtang after completing the main task. Here's the full breakdown.
Stage 1: pay Rodtang
Pay Rodtang $100 to begin. That's the entire objective. Simple, but it sets everything else in motion.
Stage 2: defeat three NPC types
This is where the real grind begins. You need to defeat 7 of each of the following NPC types across three different locations:
Tackling them in order makes the most sense. Boxers at the Bizarre Gym are right across the street from Rodtang, so start there. Cyborgs at Bus Stop 3 are only slightly tougher at level 22 and spawn all over the roads near Rudol von Stroheim. Samurai Masters are the problem: at level 50, they're a significant jump in difficulty. Make sure you're not underleveled before heading to Bus Stop 4, or the Kame Yu Shop area will punish you hard.
warning
Samurai Masters are level 50 compared to the level 20-22 Boxers and Cyborgs. If you're struggling, level up before attempting Bus Stop 4.
Stage 3: return to Rodtang
After defeating all 21 NPCs across the three locations, go back and talk to Rodtang. This conversation marks Stage 3 as complete automatically. No additional task required.
Stage 4: complete three World Events
World Events are the most time-dependent part of this questline. They spawn roughly every 15 minutes at Morioh Station near Bus Stop 1. The portal appears in the middle of the road in front of the Saitama Titles NPC, so position yourself there and wait.
A few things to know before you start waiting:
- The Deathmatch event requires a minimum of 4 players to start.
- The Graveyard event has no minimum player requirement, making it the easiest to trigger solo or in a small group.
- Server hopping into fuller servers increases your odds of hitting that player threshold for Deathmatch.
- The official Bizarre Lineage Discord is worth checking if you need to coordinate with other players farming World Events at the same time.
info
You need to complete 3 World Events total. The Graveyard variant is the most reliable option if you're struggling to find enough players for Deathmatch.
Stage 5: return to Rodtang again
Once the three World Events are done, head back to Bus Stop 2 and talk to Rodtang. This interaction completes Stage 5 automatically, same as Stage 3. No payment or fighting required.
Stage 6: duel Rodtang
Rodtang challenges you to a fight. He sits at level 50, which sounds intimidating, but the duel is reportedly more manageable than the Samurai Masters you already handled. Bring your strongest Stand and approach it like any other boss encounter: stay mobile, punish openings, and don't get greedy.
info
Use the best fighting Stand available to you before entering the duel with Rodtang. His level 50 stat line looks scary, but the fight is straightforward with proper preparation.
Stage 7: collect your reward
After defeating Rodtang, interact with him one final time. This last conversation rewards you with the Piercing Blows Move as a bonus before the questline wraps up, and you officially unlock the Muay Thai Fighting Style.
