Sailor Piece Hogyoku Quest guide

The Chrysalis Sigil is one of Sailor Piece's most sought-after items, and for good reason: you cannot fight True Aizen without it. The problem most players run into is that the sigil doesn't drop reliably, and the location that spawns it is locked behind a multi-step quest chain. This guide covers the full path from zero sigils to farming them efficiently, plus exactly how many you need for each boss difficulty.

How do you unlock access to the Chrysalis Sigil?

The Chrysalis Sigil only drops from Quincy enemies on Soul Society Island, a location added during a major Sailor Piece update. You cannot reach this island until you complete the Hogyoku Quest, which itself has a level gate and a collection requirement.

Here's the full unlock sequence, as documented by IGN's Sailor Piece wiki:

  1. Travel to Hollow Island and enter the portal.
  2. Head to the back of the area and speak to the Hogyoku Quest NPC.
  3. Your character must be at least level 8,500 to accept the quest.
  4. Collect all six Hogyoku Fragments scattered across the game's starting islands.
  5. Return to the Hogyoku Quest NPC after collecting all fragments.
  6. Soul Society Island is now accessible through the portal.

Once inside, the Quincy enemies you need to farm are located immediately outside the portal. These mobs sit at level 10,750, which means arriving right after completing the Hogyoku Quest at 8,500 is not ideal. Waiting until you're closer to level 10,000 or 11,000 before farming here seriously.

How to farm Chrysalis Sigils fast

Since the drop is luck-based, the fastest strategy is to maximize kills per minute and improve your Luck stat. Here are the methods that work:

Increase kill speed:

  • Equip high-damage Stands to clear Quincy mobs as quickly as possible.
  • Stay near the portal exit where Quincy enemies spawn, so you're not wasting time running.
  • Wait for enemy respawns and loop the same area continuously.

Increase Luck to improve drop rates:

  • Reroll your character's Species to Kitsune, which grants +25% to your Luck stat (confirmed by IGN's guide).
  • Unlock and equip Runes that boost Luck.
  • Level up your Clan to passively improve Luck.
  • Equip Boss Kill Titles for additional Luck bonuses.
  • Complete Ascension levels to raise your Luck stat further.
  • Purchase Luck boosts from the Shop if you prefer a direct route.

How many Chrysalis Sigils do you need for True Aizen?

Once you have enough sigils, head to the True Aizen Summoner NPC on Soul Society Island. The cost scales with difficulty. All sources agree on the following breakdown:

Higher difficulties offer stronger challenges and better rewards. If you're farming sigils specifically to grind True Aizen for rewards, running Hard or Extreme is worth the extra sigil cost once your character can handle it.

How to use Chrysalis Sigils at the True Aizen Summoner

The process is straightforward once you have the sigils:

  1. Travel to Soul Society Island through the portal.
  2. Locate the True Aizen Summoner NPC.
  3. Select your preferred difficulty.
  4. Spend the required number of Chrysalis Sigils to spawn the boss.

Many players collect 4 sigils before their first attempt so they can test multiple difficulties in one session without returning to farm. Given the random drop rate, this is the most time-efficient approach.
