Starsand Island Guide: Best Ways to Earn Starsand Points

Starsand Points are one of the most rewarding currencies in Starsand Island, yet plenty of players overlook them entirely during their early hours on the island. Unlike Coins, which you spend at vendors, Starsand Points are tied directly to your character's growth and profession upgrades. Understanding where they come from and how to collect them consistently makes a real difference in how quickly your island life takes shape.

What Are Starsand Points?

Starsand Points are a dedicated in-game currency shaped like a starfish, designed to reflect the depth of your journey on the island. According to the in-game description, they exist to light up "every little moment of your island life," and that philosophy carries through to how you spend them.

You access Starsand Points through two key apps on your in-game phone. The Star Note app tracks your XP and leveling progress, while the Workpedia app is where you actually put your Starsand Points to work. Specifically, you can use them to upgrade profession-related perks, but only up to your current certification level in each profession. The higher your certification, the more powerful the perks you can unlock.

How Does the Star Note System Work?

The Star Note system is Starsand Island's core leveling feature, and it is the backbone of how Starsand Points flow to your character. Every 100 XP you accumulate advances your character to the next level, triggering automatic rewards that include Starsand Points alongside other bonuses.

XP feeds into four distinct categories within the Star Note app:

  • Building Homestead - Progress tied to Build Mode activity and unlocking new areas of the island.
  • Farmer's Life - XP earned through profession use and skill application across all farming-related activities.
  • Island Residents - Rewards for building social bonds with Islanders and interacting with the island's animal residents.
  • Daily Moments - A catch-all category covering exploration, main quests, side quests, and miscellaneous in-game interactions.

The practical takeaway here is that nearly everything you do in Starsand Island feeds into at least one of these XP categories. Playing naturally and engaging with all four areas is the most reliable path to consistent Starsand Points over time.

What Is the Island Life System and How Does It Reward You?

The Island Life system, accessible through the Island Life app on your in-game phone, functions as Starsand Island's achievement tracker. It organizes your journey, monitors quest progress, and highlights specific milestones worth chasing.

Each achievement inside the Island Life system comes with defined objectives. Examples include placing furniture in your home, reaching a certification milestone in a profession, or successfully befriending Islanders. Completing these objectives pays out a range of rewards including recipes, blueprints, landscaping manuals, outfit patterns, and Starsand Points.

The Starsand Points reward scales upward with each successive achievement, meaning later milestones pay out more than earlier ones. Not every achievement awards Starsand Points specifically, so it is worth opening the Island Life app regularly to check which objectives are outstanding and which ones carry a Starsand Points reward.

How to Farm Starsand Points Fast Using the Bulletin Board

The Bulletin Board is the most consistent and repeatable source of Starsand Points available in Starsand Island. You will find it positioned in front of the Community Center in the town square. Approaching it reveals daily requests posted by Islanders, each asking for specific items such as crops, seeds, raw resources, or crafted goods.

Here is the key data on Bulletin Board reward tiers:

A few important mechanics to keep in mind:

  • Requests are time-gated, so always check the Time Limit note on each request before accepting.
  • The daily request cap refreshes at 6 AM in-game time.
  • Completing specific Island Life achievements increases the number of requests you can accept per day.
  • Special requests tied to profession certification trials do not count against the daily request limit, meaning you can complete them on top of your regular daily quota.
  • Reaching cumulative milestones for completed requests unlocks bonus rewards including Coins and blueprints.

Islander and Tourist Side Quests

Beyond the structured systems, scattered side quests from Islanders and tourists offer another route to Starsand Points. These are less passive than Bulletin Board farming but still worth pursuing because they contribute XP directly to the "Daily Moments" category in the Star Note app, giving you a double benefit.

Two specific opportunities stand out:

  • The couple at Panda House will request photos to be taken on multiple occasions. Returning to them repeatedly and fulfilling each photo request rewards you incrementally.
  • Momo the artist, whose location you can track on the Island Map, also asks for photos to be taken several times. Each completed request from her comes with its own reward.

These photo-based requests are straightforward to execute and pair naturally with the Scenery Album activities described below.

How Does the Scenery Album Generate Starsand Points?

The Scenery Album is one of the most overlooked features in Starsand Island, and it is a genuinely efficient source of Starsand Points once you know how it works. The album tracks unique Points of Interest (POIs) scattered across every subarea of the island, similar to the viewpoint systems found in games like Genshin Impact.

To access it, enter Photo Mode and navigate to the Album tab, then switch to the Scenery section. Alternatively, open the Album app on your in-game phone and select the Scenery tab directly.

Every time you photograph a new Scenery POI, you earn 20 Starsand Points. Beyond individual photos, hitting specific photography milestones unlocks additional in-game rewards. Since POIs are spread across all subareas, exploring the island with Photo Mode active is a natural way to accumulate these points without any extra effort.
