Best weapons to get early in Beast Of Reincarnation | Rock Paper Shotgun

The Purity sword is one of the earliest lifesteal weapons you can get in Beast of Reincarnation, and it changes how you approach fights entirely. Instead of dodging everything and waiting for a safe window, you stay aggressive, land hits, and let the sword's Vampiric Blade effect do the recovery work for you. It costs 4,390 Amber from the Ancient Golem Merchant in Chapter 2, and it's sitting right on the main quest path if you know where to stop.

Where is the Purity sword in Beast of Reincarnation?

Purity is sold in the Ancient Civilization Zone, specifically inside the Underground Ruins you reach by elevator during Chapter 2. The vendor is the Ancient Golem Merchant, a robot mech you encounter at a rest and fast-travel point while following the generator objective.

Some players have pointed to a Chapter 3 Pilgrim's Zone location near Nushi's Lair Entrance, where a Wandering Merchant reportedly carries it. That's a real location, but the Chapter 2 route gets you there much earlier and lines up naturally with the main quest, so there's no reason to wait.

What do you need before buying Purity?

Three things to have sorted before heading to the merchant:

  • Reach Chapter 2 and enter the Ancient Civilization Zone
  • Descend by elevator into the Underground Ruins
  • Have 4,390 Amber on hand

That's the full checklist. Purity doesn't require a quest completion or a key item, just the currency and being far enough into Chapter 2 to have triggered the generator objective.

How to get the Purity sword

Follow these steps in order once you're inside the Ancient Civilization Zone:

  1. Enter the Underground Ruins via the elevator from the Ancient Civilization Zone.
  2. Follow the main quest route toward the power supplies and generators.
  3. When you reach the rest and fast-travel point with the robot mech nearby, stop.
  4. Talk to the Ancient Golem Merchant to trigger the locked-gate and generator cutscene.
  5. After the cutscene ends, speak to the merchant a second time to open the shop.
  6. Purchase Purity for 4,390 Amber.

The second conversation is the step most players miss. The shop doesn't open on the first interaction because the cutscene has to play out first. Once it does, the inventory is available immediately.

How does Vampiric Blade work?

Vampiric Blade is Purity's passive effect, and it's straightforward: every hit Emma lands restores HP based on the damage dealt. No parry required, no special trigger, just consistent offense.

That distinction matters because some players assume the healing ties into a parry mechanic. It doesn't. The sword rewards you for staying in contact with enemies and landing attacks repeatedly, which makes it particularly effective in boss fights where you have extended windows to keep swinging.

The practical result is a shift in how you manage health. Purity turns damage output into a survival tool, so staying on the offensive becomes safer than retreating to wait for a natural heal.

tip
Bigger hits return more HP. Against enemies with high health pools, landing heavy attacks consistently will recover more than chipping away with fast light strikes.

How does Purity scale with upgrades?

The healing percentage climbs meaningfully with each tier, from 3.5% at base to 8.5% at higher upgrades. Combined with the attack increase from 27 to 34 at +1 alone, each upgrade tier makes the sustain loop noticeably stronger.

Purity is at its best when the healing is actively keeping you alive through fights. Once you're deep enough into the game that raw damage output matters more than sustain, it's worth comparing against later swords. The Bell Sword and Purifier Blade are both worth looking at once you've gotten your value out of Purity's upgrade path. Is Purity worth buying?

For Chapter 2, yes. The lifesteal effect fills a gap that most early weapons don't cover. If you're struggling to stay healthy through longer encounters or boss fights, Purity's Vampiric Blade gives you a way to recover without burning through consumables.

It's not a weapon you'll necessarily carry into the late game without reassessing, but as an early sustain pick that rewards aggressive play, it's one of the better purchases available at that point in the run. Pair it with consistent pressure on enemies and you'll notice a real difference in how long Emma stays in fights.
