The Binding Fang Skill Amber is one of those Chapter 2 rewards that players walk right past because it sits inside an elite encounter on the main route. Miss the fight, miss the amber. Beast of Reincarnation ties this one to the Wolf Elite tied to The Vicious Malefact objective, and the whole process from fight to equip takes only a few minutes once you know where to go.
Where is the Binding Fang Skill Amber?
Binding Fang is found in Chapter 2 inside the Ancient Civilization Zone. The encounter is not hidden behind an optional side path or locked inside a chest. You get it by defeating the Wolf Elite enemy that appears as part of The Vicious Malefact objective after the first Dragon Vein Shrine in the chapter.
If you are following the Chapter 2 main objective marker, you are already on the right path. The Wolf Elite encounter sits directly on that route, so there is no detour required.
How to get the Binding Fang Skill Amber
The route is direct. Start at the Chapter 2 camp in the Ancient Civilization Zone and work through these steps.
Step 1: Talk to the nearby NPC (optional)
A nearby NPC at the camp can frame the route for you before you leave. The conversation is completely optional and has no required dialogue choice attached to the Binding Fang reward. Speak to them if you want the destination confirmed, then move on.
Step 2: Check your map position at camp
Pull up the map from the camp area and line up the route toward The Vicious Malefact objective marker. This keeps you oriented before the Ancient Civilization Zone opens up.

Step 3: Follow The Vicious Malefact objective marker
Head out from camp and follow The Vicious Malefact marker. The path leads you past the first Dragon Vein Shrine in Chapter 2. Once you clear that shrine, the Wolf Elite encounter is close.
Step 4: Engage and defeat the Wolf Elite
The Wolf Elite is the encounter tied to The Vicious Malefact. After testing this fight at the standard Chapter 2 progression point, the enemy reads as a straightforward elite with no secondary phase surprises. Reach the marker, engage, and take it down.
Step 5: Collect Binding Fang after the fight
Once the Wolf Elite falls, the reward screen appears with Skill Amber: Binding Fang as the drop. Collect it before moving on.
Step 6: Research Binding Fang
Open the Skill Amber research screen after picking up the amber. Start the research timer. The process only takes a few in-game minutes, so you do not need to wait long before the ability is ready to use.

How do you equip Binding Fang after researching it?
Once the research timer completes, return to the Skill Amber screen and equip Binding Fang directly to your companion. The system is the same one you used to start the research. There is no separate crafting step, vendor purchase, or Nushi requirement involved.
Can you get Binding Fang from a chest or vendor instead?
No. Binding Fang is a combat drop exclusive to the Wolf Elite in Chapter 2. There is no chest that contains it, no vendor that sells it, and no dialogue choice or currency exchange that unlocks it. The Wolf Elite fight is the only source.
This also means you cannot farm or re-obtain it through other means if you have already cleared the encounter. Collect it during The Vicious Malefact objective and research it immediately.
Other items and systems worth knowing in Chapter 2
Binding Fang is one piece of a larger Chapter 2 progression loop. If you are working through the same stretch of the game, check out the full Beast of Reincarnation strategy guides for companion upgrades, resource pickups, and combat unlocks across both chapters.
For players still building out their weapon options alongside companion skills, the guide on how to get the Cirrus Sword covers its full stat breakdown and ability scaling, which pairs well with companion-focused builds. If you are also tracking healing resources, the guide on how to get more Stimpacks explains how Dragon Vein Shrines expand your Stimpack capacity from 3 up to 6, which directly benefits the same Chapter 2 route you are running for Binding Fang.
