Crimson Desert Guide: How to Complete Prox's Request

Prox's Request sits on the Hernand Town notice board looking innocent enough, but players keep getting stuck on it for one reason: the game points you toward wooden crates near Fort Perwin, and those crates almost never drop what you actually need. This guide covers exactly where to find the Caligraphic Paintings, how to reach both key locations, and what you walk away with when the quest wraps up.

How do you unlock Prox's Request?

Prox's Request becomes available after you finish all Chapter 4 quests in Crimson Desert. Once Chapter 4 is done, a batch of new Requests appears on the notice board in Hernand Town, and Prox's poster is among them. Pick it up and read it to trigger the quest.

According to multiple sources covering the quest, including walkthroughs from Sportskeeda and Destructoid, the quest is classified as a Hernandian Faction request. Completing it raises your standing with that faction, which unlocks further requests down the line.

Where do you find Prox to start the quest?

The sources describe two slightly different entry points for this quest depending on when you encounter Prox. Based on Deltia's Gaming's walkthrough, you can speak directly with Prox near Fort Perwin in the Hernand region. He tells Kliff about counterfeit goods circulating in the area and asks you to investigate by bringing evidence to an investigator. Sportskeeda and Destructoid both note that after picking up the notice board poster in Hernand Town, a map marker appears pointing to a camp northeast of Hernand, between Rocca's Hill and Three Saints' Fall.

If you have unlocked the nearby Abyss Cresset (also called an Abyss Point depending on the source), you can fast travel directly to the camp.

How do you complete Prox's Request

Here is the full sequence from quest pickup to completion:

  1. Finish all Chapter 4 quests and collect the Prox's Request poster from the Hernand Town notice board.
  2. Travel to the camp northeast of Hernand, between Rocca's Hill and Three Saints' Fall. Use the nearby Abyss Cresset to fast travel if available.
  3. Speak with Prox, the goblin merchant at the camp. He asks you to deliver counterfeit goods (Caligraphic Paintings) to an investigator at a Goldleaf Merchant camp.
  4. A new map marker appears pointing to the Goldleaf Trading Post, south of Hernand.
  5. Travel to the Goldleaf Trading Post and locate the goblin in green robes near the carts and goods.
  6. Speak with the goblin and let the dialogue finish. This completes the quest.

Where do you actually find Caligraphic Paintings?

This is the part most guides gloss over. The Caligraphic Paintings are the counterfeit goods Prox needs, and you only need one to complete the quest. The problem is that these items are not flagged as Key Items, which means you can accidentally sell them.

There are two reliable methods:

  • Wagon loot near the Fort Perwin quarry: South of Fort Perwin, you will occasionally find a wagon under bandit attack. Wait for the bandits to finish looting, or step in and take everything yourself. Looting the Unpackaged Goods from the wagon frequently yields Caligraphic Paintings.
  • Glenbright Manor: Head upstairs to the primary bedroom for a guaranteed Caligraphic Painting. The cabinets near the stairs can also contain Paintings as a secondary check.

Glenbright Manor is the more reliable option if you want to skip any randomness entirely.

What rewards do you get for completing Prox's Request?

All three sources agree on the core reward package. After speaking with the goblin investigator at the Goldleaf Trading Post, you receive:

  • Prox's Trust +50
  • Hernandian Contribution +50
  • 1x Cloth Piece
  • 3x Inventory Expansion Slots (Medium Bag)

The 3 inventory expansion slots are the main reason to prioritize this quest early. Inventory space is tight in Crimson Desert, and Prox's Request is one of the cleaner ways to expand it without spending Silver.

Why is Prox's Request worth doing early?

Fetch quests in Crimson Desert get a bad reputation, but Prox's Request punches above its weight. Three inventory slots from a single dialogue interaction (once you have the Painting) is a strong return on time investment. The Hernandian Contribution gain also stacks with other faction quests in the region, so completing this one early accelerates access to the rest of the Hernand notice board queue.

The quest also has no combat requirement. If you grab the Caligraphic Painting from Glenbright Manor first, the entire quest becomes two travel legs and two dialogue interactions. According to the Sportskeeda walkthrough, the faction trust gains from this quest directly feed into the broader Hernandian questline, so skipping it delays other rewards.
