Palmar Pills are the backbone of surviving Crimson Desert's tougher boss encounters, and both Rosemary and Peonies are the herbs you need to brew them. The problem is the game barely explains where to find either one efficiently. After testing both methods back to back, the fastest combined approach yields over 11 Palmar Pills in under 20 minutes — here's exactly how to pull it off.
What do you need before farming Rosemary?
The Rosemary farming method in Crimson Desert is built around theft, which means two items are non-negotiable before you start.
- A Mask: Pick one up from a Back Alley Merchant (the one southeast of the Church Confessional Vendor sells them for 10 Copper). You can also loot masks off Bandits or earn one by turning in the bounty on Jeffrey, an outlaw who wanders the streets of Hernand.
- Keys: Back Alley Shops sell these for 30 Copper Coins each, but you can also loot them from enemies for free. They aren't strictly required, but having a handful opens extra buildings and meaningfully increases your total Rosemary haul per run.
info
You don't need to buy a full stack of keys. Even 3-4 keys per run will open enough locked homes to push your Rosemary count significantly higher.
Once your mask is equipped and you have keys ready, head straight to Hernand Town.
How to farm Rosemary fast
The core loop is simple: enter buildings, steal Rosemary off the walls, wait out the crime meter, then move to the next building. The northern, southern, and eastern sections of Hernand have the highest building density, so work those areas first.
Most buildings contain 3 to 5 bunches of Rosemary hanging near walls and doorways. A handful of buildings will surprise you with 10 or more bunches in a single room. Vendors are fair game too — the Provisioner's Shop, Grocer's Shop, and Tannery all stock Rosemary you can purchase outright for 8 Copper per bunch if you'd rather skip the theft entirely.
warning
After stealing, stay hidden inside the building until your crime meter fully clears. Stepping outside too early will flag you and hit your Faction Contribution score. You can recover that contribution quickly by completing a nearby quest, but it's easier to just wait it out.According to IGN's testing of this exact route, a full sweep of Hernand's buildings nets around 100 Rosemary in just over 13 minutes — enough to craft 6 to 7 Palmar Pills from Rosemary alone. The one catch: Rosemary takes approximately two in-game days to respawn after you've cleared a building.

How to get Peonies
Here's where the strategy gets efficient. While you're waiting on Rosemary to tick back up, Peonies fill the gap as a direct substitute for crafting Palmar Pills. They're bright pink flowers that grow in patches around Hernand's outskirts, and collecting them carries zero theft risk.
Head to the Stables just outside Hernand Town, then forage along two roadside stretches:
- Northwest from the Stables, all the way to the bridge
- Southwest from the Stables, continuing until the Peony patch opposite the Bank
These roadside patches are dense enough that a focused run through both directions yields roughly 83 Peonies in about 7 minutes — good for approximately 5 Palmar Pills. The respawn timer for Peonies isn't confirmed yet, but they appear frequently along most roadsides in the region, so supply is rarely a bottleneck.
info
Peonies and Rosemary are functionally interchangeable for brewing Palmar Pills via the Alchemy system. You don't need to prioritize one over the other — use whichever you have more of at any given moment.

What's the fastest way to get Palmar Pills?
Run the Rosemary sweep through Hernand first (13 minutes, ~100 bunches), then immediately pivot to the Peony roadside routes near the Stables (7 minutes, ~83 flowers). Combined, that's 11 or more Palmar Pills in roughly 20 minutes of active play. No grinding enemies, no waiting on merchants to restock, and no spending significant amounts of Copper.
