Where is the Shield of Conviction in Crimson Desert?
The Shield of Conviction sits inside a treasure chest in the bell tower of the Church of Calphade, located in the Hernand region. The church is in the settlement of Hernand, directly north of the "N" on the map label. More precisely: northwest of Hernand, near the Deepfog Basin.
The chest is right underneath the bell itself, accessible through a broken window partway up the tower wall.
How to get the Shield of Conviction
The most direct route:
- Fast travel to the Deepfog Basin Abyss Nexus, located west of Calphade Castle.
- Head east toward the Church of Calphade.
- Look up at the bell tower and spot the broken window directly below the bell.
- Climb the tower wall and enter through that broken window.
- Open the treasure chest on the right side of the room to collect the Shield of Conviction.
The bell at the top of the tower also removes fog of war from this section of the map, so the trip does double duty.

The Shield of Conviction comes pre-equipped with two Abyss Gear bonuses:

Is the Shield of Conviction worth keeping?
For early-to-mid-game play, yes. Pure defensive stats across shields have very little variance in Crimson Desert, which means the Shield of Conviction holds its own against most alternatives you'll find in the same stretch of the game. You won't feel compelled to swap it out unless you stumble across another unique shield with a more compelling Abyss Gear combination.
The design is also worth mentioning. The Shield of Betrayal shares the exact same visual design as the Shield of Conviction, but if you want that look on a shield with better utility perks, the Conviction version is the one to keep.
