The Propeller Spear is one of Crimson Desert's unique weapons, and it's easy to walk straight past it if you don't know where to look. More than just a decent spear, it's the foundation for crafting the Kuku Propeller Spear, a significantly stronger upgrade that trades the base version's fragility for real staying power. Here's exactly where to find it and what to do with it once you have it.
Where is the Propeller Spear in Crimson Desert?
The Propeller Spear sits inside the Aeronautical Research Base, a point of interest in the far southeast of Delesyia, one of Crimson Desert's six major regions of Pywel. The base hugs the coastline, so if you're running east from the center of Delesyia and hit water, you've gone in the right direction.
Once you're at the base, don't start checking every tower. You're looking for the guard tower with an active chimney (some sources refer to it as an active vest/chimney). That smoking chimney is your landmark. According to Sportskeeda's coverage of the game, the correct tower is identifiable specifically by this detail, so skip any towers that aren't venting smoke.
info
Pull up your map and mark the southeastern coastal section of Delesyia before heading out. The Aeronautical Research Base is large, and wandering between towers wastes time.

How to reach the Propeller Spear inside the tower
Once you've found the right tower, head inside and take the stairs up. You'll pass through the building until you reach a room stocked with cannons and cannonballs. The Propeller Spear is on a weapons rack positioned near a pillar in that room. You can't miss it once you're in the right space.
warning
The Propeller Spear has fixed durability. Using it as your primary weapon will eventually break it, and you'll lose the material needed for the upgrade. Grab it and save it for crafting.

What does the Propeller Spear do?
The Propeller Spear handles like a standard melee weapon, but its special ability sets it apart. It can generate a wind wave that travels forward and knocks back enemies. The catch is that this effect requires charges: you can store up to 5 charges, and each charge has a 5-second cooldown.
That cooldown and charge cap make the base version functional but limited. The real value here is what it unlocks.
How to craft the Kuku Propeller Spear
Crafting the Kuku Propeller Spear requires a few steps beyond just having the base weapon. First, you need the blueprint, which becomes available after restoring the Sanctum of Atonement (also referred to as the Sanctum of Absolution in some sources). Once you have the blueprint, head to Grimnir's Kuku Shop to do the actual crafting.
Here are all the materials required:
- 1x Kuku Spear (blueprint from restoring the Sanctum of Atonement)
- 1x Propeller Spear (found at the Aeronautical Research Base)
- 5x Small Battery (dropped by humanoid machines)
- 2x Electrical Component (looted from humanoid machine corpses)
- 10x Cogwheel (looted from humanoid machine corpses)
The humanoid machine enemies are your main farming target for three of the five materials. Plan a run through areas with those enemy types before heading to Grimnir's shop.
The base Propeller Spear is easy to grab once you know the exact tower, and the upgrade path is straightforward if you're already clearing machine enemies. For more Crimson Desert weapon guides and tips, browse the full guides section at GAMES.GG.
