Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.5, titled the Edgerunners 2 update, drops on October 22nd for most platforms. Nintendo Switch 2 and Mac users get a slightly delayed rollout, but everyone else can jump in immediately. The patch is one of the more substantial drops CD PROJEKT RED has delivered post-launch, touching everything from new story content and dual-wielding mechanics to cross-platform mod support and hardware-level rendering upgrades. Here's every change broken down by category.

Clampdown quest unlock screen
What's new in the Edgerunners 2 content?
The Edgerunners-themed additions are the headline draw for most players. A new side quest called Clampdown ties directly into the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 storyline. To unlock it, complete The Heist and finish two gigs for Wakako, then wait for her message. The quest rewards a 5-piece gear set based on the character King, so it's worth tracking down early if you care about themed loadouts.
A second side quest, Welcome to Paradise, also arrives with this patch. It sends V on a guided tour of Night City narrated by Richard Night and unlocks after completing The Heist and hitting level 15 Street Cred. The two quests together give returning players a solid reason to boot up a save.
Rounding out the Edgerunners content is a new radio station, HKGN 102.0 FM, pulling tracks from the Edgerunners series. Small addition, but Night City drives feel different with the right soundtrack.
New clothing vendors and cosmetic options
Five new outfit sets have been added to clothing vendors across Night City, each tied to a specific district:
| Outfit Set | Vendor Locations |
|---|---|
| Maxiwear | Heywood, Arroyo, Little China |
| Jinguji | City Center |
| NetWatch | Kabuki, Japantown |
| IconAmerica | Pacifica, Badlands, Northside |
| NUS Infiltrator | Kabuki, Japantown |
A fifth unnamed set is confirmed but hasn't hit shelves yet at launch. Previously NPC-exclusive hairstyles are now available for V, though some are locked to specific body types. Four new TWINTONE skins for the Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech are available through Twitch Drops.

Glamdoc cyberware skin options
How does cyberware customization work?
One of the more original additions is the Glamdoc system. Equip Mantis Blades, Gorilla Arms, Monowire, or the Projectile Launch System, then visit one of 5 Glamdocs marked with a spray paint icon on the map. Each location has its own intro scene with voiceover and animations, and each offers a unique catalog of skins with customizable colors. It's a small thing that makes a noticeable difference when you're running a melee build and staring at your arms constantly.
What is the Double Trouble perk?
Double Trouble is a new perk added to the Cool tree, bringing four auxiliary perks alongside it. The mechanic is straightforward: dual-wield Pistols and Revolvers from the Power category. This is an entirely new playstyle that didn't exist before 2.5, and Photo Mode has been updated with new poses to match. If you've been running a pistol build, this changes the ceiling on what that archetype can do.
Cross-platform mod support: what does it mean for console players?
The biggest quality-of-life shift for console players is cross-platform mod support, powered by mod.io. Players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S can now browse and install player-created mods directly from the in-game menu. CD PROJEKT RED describes this as a first step, with more mods becoming available over time. Console modding in an open-world RPG of this scale is a meaningful shift for adventure games in general, not just Night City.
Consoles also finally get an FOV slider with this patch, which should have been there years ago but is welcome regardless.

Quality of life and save management changes
Several smaller changes add up to a noticeably cleaner experience:
- Saves in the Load Game menu are now grouped by separate playthroughs, so managing multiple V builds is far less messy
- Item filters have been added to apartment and vehicle stashes
- Modded saves now display a dedicated icon in the Load Game menu (note: achievements and trophies are disabled on console when loading from a modded save)
- The Tarot system has been expanded with 12 new Minor Arcana cards scattered across Night City, with a new side quest extending Fool on the Hill that activates after scanning any of the new cards
Technology and rendering upgrades
On the technical side, 2.5 is a significant push forward for high-end setups:
- DLSS 4.5 support added, including up to 6X Multi Frame Generation, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, and the 2nd Generation Transformer Model
- FSR options updated: FSR 3 upscaling removed, while FSR 2.1, FSR 4, and FSR 3.1 Frame Generation remain
- FSR Anti-Lag 2 toggle added to settings
- MetalFX Frame Interpolation and Denoising added for Mac
- Glasses-free 3D effects on compatible Samsung Odyssey 3D monitors, with a Motion Comfort setting for depth and comfort balance
- Ray Tracing and PlayStation 5 Pro performance optimizations
- Improved HDR rendering for more accurate colors, brightness, and contrast

Bug fixes worth knowing about
A handful of fixes address long-standing annoyances. The Delamain cab in Things Done Changed could previously get stuck after a vehicle collision, blocking quest progression entirely. That's now fixed. HDR settings on PlayStation 5 were also non-functional before this patch. Film Grain enabling had no visual effect. Enemy tagging while scanning could accidentally trigger V to crouch or stand, and controller settings for the Third-Person Camera were missing. All resolved.
The Nintendo Switch 2 save error that caused a "Save failed – insufficient space" message has also been patched, though Switch 2 players won't receive the full 2.5 update on launch day.
