Overview
Drunken Fist 2: Zombie Hangover, developed by DEKLAZON and published by Eastasiasoft Limited, is a physics-based beat 'em up that leans hard into its absurd premise. You play as a hungover rocker who wakes up mid-zombie apocalypse and has no choice but to punch, stumble, and faceplant through hordes of the undead. Released in June 2022 across PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch, the game commits fully to its comedy-horror tone without ever trying to be something it isn't.

The low-poly art style keeps the blood and limb-loss feeling cartoonish rather than grim, which suits the game's personality perfectly. Gore is present but never takes itself seriously, and the ragdoll physics turn every encounter into a slapstick highlight reel. There's a genuine charm to watching your character collapse face-first into the pavement after a particularly rough zombie pile-on.

Gameplay and mechanics
The core loop in Drunken Fist 2 revolves around a surprisingly clever survival system. Alcohol keeps your character's drunken fighting style active, while food prevents you from collapsing entirely. Let either resource run too low and your combat effectiveness tanks fast. This creates a constant scavenging rhythm as you move through sprawling stages, hunting bottles and snacks between brawls.
Key mechanics at a glance:
- Physics-based melee combat with ragdoll takedowns
- Alcohol and food resource management
- Enemy variety with distinct behaviors
- Stage exploration for collectible resources
- Urination as an actual combat tool
The enemy variety is worth noting. Different zombie types move and react differently, so the same button-mashing approach doesn't work on every encounter. You need to read the situation, which adds a thin but functional layer of strategy to what could easily have been a mindless button masher.

What makes the drunken combat system work?
Physics-based brawling lives or dies by how it feels to throw a punch, and Drunken Fist 2 gets this mostly right. Your rocker doesn't move with precision. The wobbly, unpredictable movement is the point. Swings connect at odd angles, stumbles interrupt combos, and the ragdoll reactions from enemies sell every hit. The lack of tight control is a design choice, not a flaw, and the game is more enjoyable once that clicks.
The urination mechanic deserves a mention purely because it exists and works as intended. Enemies react to it. You can do it mid-street. It's juvenile, it fits the tone, and it's the kind of detail that makes Drunken Fist 2 memorable in a genre full of forgettable indie brawlers.
Visual and audio design
The low-poly aesthetic handles the zombie violence well. Limbs detach, blood splatters, and bodies pile up, but the geometric art style keeps everything feeling like a dark cartoon rather than a shock-value exercise. Stages have enough visual variety to stay interesting across multiple levels, and the environments reinforce the chaotic city-under-siege atmosphere without over-designing every corner.

Content and replayability
Drunken Fist 2 is a compact experience by design. The sprawling stages offer room to explore and scavenge, and the enemy variety gives each run some texture. The physics-based systems mean no two encounters play out identically, which adds natural replay value even without formal roguelike elements. For players who enjoy mastering chaotic brawlers or chasing better runs through familiar stages, there's enough here to justify returning. The game doesn't overstay its welcome, and that restraint works in its favor.
