FC 26 Guide: Best Players for Strike Force Is Back Evolution

The Strike Force is Back Evolution is one of the more generous ST-focused upgrades available right now in EA SPORTS FC 26. It costs 200 FUTTIES Tokens to unlock and accepts cards rated up to an overall of 96, which means a wide pool of high-end strikers are eligible. Three upgrade levels, three PlayStyles+, and stat boosts across every key attacking attribute make this worth spending tokens on if you have the right card sitting in your club.

What are the Strike Force is Back Evolution requirements?

Before picking your player, check that they meet every entry condition. The evolution is locked to the ST position and has the following caps:

  • Overall: Max 96
  • Total Positions: Max 4
  • PlayStyle+: Max 4
  • Position: ST only
important
The position lock is strict. Only cards listed as ST qualify, so LW or CF versions of players will not work here regardless of their rating.

What upgrades does each level provide?

The evolution runs across three levels, each requiring just one match to complete. The conditions are identical for all three: play one match in Squad Battles on Semi-Pro difficulty or higher, or in Rush, Rivals, Champions, or Live Events with your active EVO player. That makes progression fast if you already have a regular game schedule.

Here is the full breakdown of stat changes and additions:

The Level 2 addition of RW as a secondary position is a meaningful bonus. It gives you positional flexibility in your squad without needing a separate card. Level 3's dribbling cap of 96 combined with the Low Driven Shot PlayStyle+ makes the finished card a genuine threat from multiple angles.

tip
If you are running a card rated 94 or below, chain this evolution with others first to extract the best possible final stats from the upgrade path.

Best players to use in Strike Force is Back Evolution

After testing a range of eligible cards against these stat caps, here are the strongest candidates to run through the evolution. The goal is to identify cards that hit the ceiling on the most important attributes and end up with a well-rounded 97-rated ST.

Premium picks

These are the top options if you have them available:

  • Mbappe Captains - Already elite pace and dribbling; the evolution pushes every remaining stat to a near-perfect level.
  • Haaland Primetime - Physical and shooting already strong; Level 1's Shooting boost takes him to 95 before Level 2 even touches pace.
  • Ronaldo Time Warp - A classic pairing of finishing and physical presence that the PlayStyles+ complement well.
  • Vini Jr. Ultimate Scream - Pace and dribbling are his strengths already; adding Quick Step and Finesse Shot makes him a nightmare on the right flank after RW gets unlocked at Level 2.
  • Messi Star Performer - Dribbling and passing ceilings make Level 3 particularly impactful here.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo Star Performer - Strong shooting and physical base; the evolution fills in his remaining gaps.

Solid mid-tier options

These cards are worth considering if you do not have access to the premium picks:

  • Dembele TOTW
  • Griezmann FUTTIES
  • Kai Havertz Glory Hunters
  • Rashford Glory Hunters
  • Wilson National Pride
  • Sorloth National Pride
  • Alvarez Star Performer
warning
All Pina items are eligible but require running through multiple evolutions first to reach a competitive base rating. Factor in the additional cost and time before committing.

How do you complete the evolution quickly?

Every level only asks for a single match, so you can complete the full evolution in three games. Squad Battles on Semi-Pro is the lowest qualifying difficulty, which means you can knock out all three levels in under an hour if needed. Rush, Rivals, Champions, and Live Events all count too, so there is no need to grind a specific mode.

The real decision is which card to commit. Once you start the evolution, that player is locked in until you finish or abandon it. Make sure the card you pick is one you actually want to build around in your squad long-term.

tip
Cards rated 94 or below benefit most from chaining evolutions before running them through Strike Force is Back. The stat ceilings reward players who arrive with a higher base.

The No Payne No Gain Evolution is another active option worth stacking if you are building out your squad at the same time. See our No Payne No Gain best players guide for the full breakdown on that RB upgrade path.
