Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 Introduces ...

Sprites are one of the most talked-about additions in Fortnite Runners (Chapter 7 Season 3). These small creatures each carry powerful in-game abilities, and because some have a drop rate below 1%, hunting them solo can feel like a full-time job. Trading with other players is the smarter path to filling out your collection, and the community has already built a reliable system for doing it safely.

Where do you find players to trade Sprites with?

The starting point is the Sprite Trading HQ Discord server. Once you join, navigate to the Sprite Trading channel and post which Sprite you want to give up and which one you are after. You can also browse existing offers and respond directly to someone whose trade lines up with yours.

The server has filled up quickly since Chapter 7 Season 3 launched, so finding a match for most Sprites should not take long. For the rarest variants, expect to negotiate a bit before landing a deal.

How to trade Sprites in Fortnite Runners

Once you have agreed on a trade with another player, here is exactly how to carry it out:

  1. Equip the Sprite you plan to trade from your collection before entering the lobby.
  2. Invite the other player to your lobby, or accept their invite.
  3. Use a bot lobby so hostile players cannot interrupt the exchange.
  4. Drop from the Battle Bus and land on the island.
  5. Find a second Sprite in the open world during the match. This is a required step because you need an extra Sprite in your backpack before you can drop the one you want to trade.
  6. Once you have picked up the extra Sprite, open your inventory and drop the Sprite you agreed to trade. The other player does the same simultaneously.
  7. Pick up the Sprite your trading partner dropped, and confirm they have picked up yours.
  8. Both players then head to an Extraction Site and extract the newly acquired Sprites.
  9. After extraction completes, the traded Sprite is permanently added to your collection.

What happens to your original Sprite after trading?

This is the part that trips up most players: you do not permanently lose the Sprite you traded away. It stays in your collection back in the lobby. The catch is that re-equipping it requires spending Sprite Dust, so it is not completely free to get back. Think of it as a temporary loan rather than a permanent loss.

The traded Sprite you receive, on the other hand, is added to your collection outright and is yours to keep.

Why is a bot lobby so important for safe trading?

A bot lobby removes the biggest risk in the process: real players who have no interest in your trade and every interest in eliminating you for easy loot. Since the Sprite drop and pickup phase leaves both traders exposed in the open, a bot lobby is the difference between a clean exchange and losing a rare Sprite to a third party.

Either you or your trading partner needs to have a bot lobby set up before the session. Confirm this before you start the match, not after you have already dropped.
