The Scope of Authority Warbond is HELLDIVERS 2's most focused sniper package yet. Three dedicated long-range weapons, a backpack-fed anti-materiel rifle, the first adaptive camouflage armor in the game, and a proximity mine throwable that makes retreating enemies regret their decision. If you've been waiting for a warbond built around patience and positioning rather than calling down orbital barrages, this is it.

What weapons come in the Scope of Authority Warbond?

Every weapon in this warbond serves a specific range bracket. The design is deliberate: pick your engagement distance, then pick your tool.

R-40 Sightliner (Primary, 35 Medals)

The bolt-action sniper rifle that anchors the whole warbond. It fires Heavy Armor Penetrating rounds at long range, which means it can threaten targets that most primary weapons bounce off entirely. The mistake most players make with bolt-actions is panicking when a patrol closes in. The Stationary Shroud armor passive (more on that below) exists precisely to stop that from happening.

P-44 Mist (Secondary, 65 Medals)

A one-handed machine pistol with Light Armor Penetration. Its job is to cover the gap between "enemy spotted at 300 meters" and "enemy is now on top of me." It's a backup, not a primary threat, but having light AP on your sidearm is more useful than it sounds when you're fighting lighter Automaton units at close range.

AMW-20 Apex (Support Weapon Stratagem, 50 Medals)

Here's the centerpiece. The Apex is a backpack-fed anti-materiel rifle with Anti-Tank capacity, which the warbond description lists as Heavy Armor Penetration but which testing confirms punches at Anti-Tank levels against heavy targets. Two important mechanics to know:

  • It requires a Stationary Reload, meaning you must be crouched or prone to chamber a round.
  • Firing from standing knocks you back. Every time. Get low before you pull the trigger.
  • A nearby squadmate can provide a reload assist, cutting downtime significantly on higher difficulties.

Trust me on this one: pair it with the SS-15 Focal Point armor and a good position, and you can handle heavies that would otherwise demand a full stratagem cooldown.

LAS-44 Nova (Support Weapon Stratagem, 110 Medals)

An energy rifle with a short charge before each shot fires a precise, non-explosive thermal projectile. Heavy Armor Penetration on the shot, infinite ammo from its heat sink system, and an optimized cooling routine that lets you sustain fire longer than previous energy weapons. The tradeoff is that the charge delay punishes reactive shooting. This is a weapon for players who pick targets before raising the barrel, not after.

G-11 Caltrops (Throwable, 35 Medals)

Throw it, and it scatters proximity-detonated submunitions across a wide area. When enemies trigger them, they're slowed and stunned, which turns a chaotic retreat into a controlled one. Pairs well with the sniper kit because it buys you the seconds needed to reposition and re-engage from range.

What armor sets does Scope of Authority include?

Both armor sets share the same passive. The difference is weight class and visual design.

SS-33 Mimetic Marshal (Light Armor, 45 Medals)

Built to look like a ghillie suit, using light-diffusing netting and adaptive fiber technology. Light armor means more mobility, which matters if you're playing a spotter role rather than a static shooter. Comes with the Mimetic Mesh cape and matching player card.

SS-15 Focal Point (Medium Armor, 55 Medals)

Adaptive camouflage with an asymmetrical optics visor. Medium armor trades some of the Mimetic Marshal's agility for more survivability, which is the better call if you're running the Apex and need to hold a position long enough to use it. Comes with the Boundary Banner cape and player card.

What does the Stationary Shroud passive do?

Both sets carry the Stationary Shroud passive. It reduces weapon sway when moving and cuts enemy detection range while you're stationary, crouched, or prone. The effect is meaningful: enemies that would otherwise spot you at medium range and call reinforcements simply won't, as long as you stay low. For a warbond built around sniping, this is the passive that makes the whole playstyle functional rather than frustrating.

Is the Scope of Authority Superstore gear worth picking up?

Alongside the warbond, a separate Superstore page added the SS-500 Pale Prosecutor light armor, also carrying the Stationary Shroud passive, at 250 Super Credits. Its matching helmet runs 125 Super Credits, the Arctic Decree cape costs 100 Super Credits, and the Arctic Decree player card is 35 Super Credits. None of it is locked behind Medal progression, so if you want the Stationary Shroud passive without grinding page unlocks, the Pale Prosecutor is the faster route to the same benefit.

How to unlock the Scope of Authority Warbond

Head to the Acquisitions Panel on your Destroyer. You need the base game, 1,000 Super Credits (or a Warbond Token), and enough game progression to claim items as you unlock them. Super Credits drop from points of interest during missions, so running maps with a focused eye on side objectives will build your reserve faster than you'd expect.

Once you're in, prioritize page order based on what you actually want. If the AMW-20 Apex is your target, you need to clear page 1 (162 Medals) before page 2 opens. The LAS-44 Nova sits at the end of page 3, so it's the last thing you'll reach at 110 Medals on top of clearing pages 1 and 2 first.

If you're still weighing whether this warbond fits your playstyle, check out the Helldivers 2 warbonds guide covering which premium pass is worth it for a cross-warbond comparison. For players who want to round out their loadout beyond what Scope of Authority offers, the Entrenched Division warbond breakdown covers a very different tactical direction.

Common mistakes with the sniper kit

  • Staying stationary too long. Stationary Shroud reduces detection, it doesn't make you invisible. Patrols that get close enough will still spot you.
  • Ignoring the reload requirement on the Apex. Players who pick it up expecting to fire from standing lose their first shot every time.
  • Skipping the G-11 Caltrops. On higher difficulties, the stun effect on proximity detonation is what keeps a clean sniper setup from collapsing the moment one enemy breaks through.
  • Running the LAS-44 Nova without accounting for charge delay. It rewards pre-aiming. If you're reacting to a target that's already moving, the charge window costs you the shot.
