Overview
Forgotten Seas एक survival RPG है जो Bermuda Void में सेट है, एक ऐसी अजीब dimension जहाँ ज़मीन बस कुछ पल के लिए टिकती है और सब कुछ बस समंदर ही है। 11 October, 2025 को Pangea Game Studios द्वारा release की गई और indie.io के ज़रिए publish हुई यह गेम प्लेयर्स को एक mystery-soaked maritime world में ले जाती है, जहाँ undead pirates, गायब होते islands और ऐसे oceanic anomalies हैं जो पूरे ship को निगल सकते हैं। इसका core loop ship crafting, island exploration, treasure hunting और naval combat को जोड़कर कुछ ऐसा बनाता है जो आम survival games से काफी अलग और unique है।
Ships-in-bottles का concept इस गेम का सबसे interesting mechanical idea है। हर vessel, एक छोटे schooner से लेकर एक बड़े dreadnaught तक, को बोतल में compress किया जा सकता है और ज़रूरत पड़ने पर deploy किया जा सकता है। यह एक mechanic पूरे encounters का नज़रिया बदल देता है। कोई pirate ship जो आसान शिकार की तलाश में हो, उसे तब तगड़ा झटका लगता है जब अचानक एक man-o-war सामने आ जाए और fire खोल दे। प्लेयर्स specialized ships का fleet बना सकते हैं और situation के हिसाब से switch कर सकते हैं, जो गेम को एक ऐसी strategic depth देता है जो आम तौर पर pure survival titles में कम ही देखने को मिलती है।
Gameplay and mechanics: Forgotten Seas में असल में क्या करना होता है?
Forgotten Seas कई interlocking systems पर चलता है जो लगातार एक-दूसरे को feed करते हैं। moment-to-moment survival loop में भूख, प्यास और resource gathering शामिल है, लेकिन ये सब naval life की मुश्किलों के साथ चलते हैं। यहाँ वो core mechanics हैं जिनके साथ प्लेयर्स रेगुलर interact करते हैं:
- Ship crafting और bottle deployment
- Island camp building और dock construction
- Treasure map assembly और dungeon exploration
- Land और ship decks पर dual-wielding melee combat
- Naval combat जिसमें heading, speed और positioning का management शामिल है
Naval battles पर खास ध्यान देना ज़रूरी है। Sail physics और positioning बहुत मायने रखती है। अगर broadside पर angle गलत हुआ तो cannon fire बर्बाद हो जाएगी, और दुश्मन के ships gaps का फायदा उठाने के लिए लगातार maneuver करते हैं। ऊपर से storms, whirlpools और sea creatures जो survivors को अपना खाना समझते हैं, समंदर में हर engagement को काफी risky बना देते हैं।
World and setting: Bermuda Void
Bermuda Void एक बेहतरीन setting है क्योंकि यह अपनी अजीबोगरीब दुनिया के साथ पूरी तरह commit करती है। Islands अचानक गायब हो जाते हैं, जिसका मतलब है कि treasure-hunt के बीच में ही ज़मीन आपके पैरों के नीचे से गायब हो सकती है, जिससे आपको island के साथ डूबने से बचने के लिए तेज़ी से किनारे की तरफ भागना पड़ता है। इन waters में घूमने वाले Dread Pirates न ज़िंदा हैं न मुर्दे, जो Void के उस timeless atmosphere में बिल्कुल फिट बैठते हैं।

Void का रहस्य हर चीज़ के पीछे है। Sunken pyramids, टूटे हुए ships और तूफानों में छिपे secrets धीरे-धीरे इस कहानी को जोड़ते हैं कि यह जगह क्यों है और क्या यहाँ से निकलना मुमकिन है। Narrative को cutscenes के बजाय exploration के ज़रिए बताया गया है, जो गेम की pace के हिसाब से एकदम सही है।
Innovation and unique features
Ship-in-a-bottle system इसका सबसे standout feature है, लेकिन disappearing island mechanic भी exploration को tense बनाए रखने के लिए बराबर का credit डिज़र्व करता है। ज़्यादातर survival games प्लेयर्स को ज़मीन पर आराम से वक्त बिताने देते हैं, लेकिन Forgotten Seas ऐसा नहीं है। Crafting और building system dock construction और farming तक फैला है, जिसका मतलब है कि settlement-building मुमकिन तो है, लेकिन वो कभी भी permanent नहीं होती जैसा कि land-based survival games में होता है।
Dual-wielding combat system land skirmishes और deck-to-deck fighting दोनों को अच्छे से handle करता है, जिससे action methodical होने के बजाय fast रहता है। Naval positioning system के साथ मिलकर, यह गेम अपने indie origins के मुकाबले कहीं ज़्यादा combat styles ऑफर करता है।

Forgotten Seas survival, RPG progression और naval combat को एक ऐसी setting में लाता है जो अपनी अजीबोगरीब दुनिया को बखूबी निभाती है। सिर्फ ship-in-a-bottle mechanic ही इसे भीड़ से अलग खड़ा करता है, और disappearing islands, pirate encounters और छिपे हुए रहस्यों का कॉम्बिनेशन प्लेयर्स को लगातार sailing जारी रखने की वजह देता है। अगर आप open-world survival games के फैन हैं और कुछ ऐसा ढूंढ रहे हैं जिसमें आम गेम्स से ज़्यादा maritime substance हो, तो यह गेम ज़रूर try करें।
