The Itzaland arc wraps up in Infinity Nikki 2.5, and it goes out with one of the more densely packed updates the game has seen. A brand-new region, a story-critical tool, two 5-Star Ability Outfits, and a PvP-adjacent competition system all land at once. If you've been away since the 2.0 anniversary update, there's a lot to catch up on.

What's new in Infinity Nikki 2.5?

Chapters 6 and 7 of the Itzaland storyline mark the end of Nikki's time in this region, closing out an arc that started roughly six months ago. These chapters aren't optional reading either. Most of the 2.5 limited-time events are locked behind completing them, because the new mechanics they introduce (specifically the Soul Ocarina) are required to participate. If you're logging back in after a break, finishing the main story is the first thing to do.

Alongside the main chapters, a permanent quest series called Flourish of Life arrives, which includes world quests like Whispers on the Wind. Separate from that, the Tales of Itzaland II event storyline runs across five chapters unlocked over multiple days, with the 4-Star Verdant Chord outfit as the final reward.

How does the Boneyard work?

The Boneyard is the headline new area in 2.5, and it fits the update's "Where All Souls Return" theme well. Think of it less as a graveyard and more as a spiritual transit hub. Souls pass through here on their way to the next cycle of reincarnation, guided by Parksolians, humanoid creatures with dragon-like features who work as ferrymen. The tone is mournful rather than grim, which sets it apart from anything in Heartcraft Kingdom.

Hollowbreath Passage

This sub-area inside the Boneyard is built around resource farming. Your main targets here are Crystals of Blessing, which can be traded for Diamonds and Resonite Crystals. You'll also pick up crafting materials for Blueprints (Clothing Sketches: Ancient Remnants).

The hazard to watch for is Windbones, giant boulders that flatten Nikki and reset her dungeon progress on contact. Breaking them requires the Dragon Bone Master Ability Outfit (also called Luster Covenant), which unlocks shortly after you first enter the Boneyard. Don't head into Hollowbreath Passage before you have it.

Soul Realm

The Soul Realm sits layered on top of the Boneyard rather than being a physically separate location. Access requires the Soul Ocarina, a tool Nikki picks up during the new story chapters. The ocarina lets her heal characters and guide spirits toward rebirth, both of which are tied to specific quests and limited-time events. Without it, certain NPC interactions simply don't exist.

New Ability Outfits: which one should you pull?

Ability Outfits in Infinity Nikki serve a dual purpose. They define Nikki's look and give her functional skills for open-world traversal and combat. The 2.5 update adds two new 5-Star Ability Outfits to limited-time banners, plus the free story-reward outfit Luster Covenant.

Neither paid outfit is required to clear the story or explore the Boneyard. Everything you strictly need comes through free crafting as you progress. These are quality-of-life upgrades, not gatekeepers.

Floral Rebirth

  • Main Attribute: Fresh
  • Ability: Bloomlight Shadowcatcher
  • Effect: Captures multiple insects at once with wider swipes
  • Paired 4-Star Outfit: Evergreen Vow (summons a warhorse for photo ops)

Guide of No Return

  • Main Attribute: Sexy
  • Ability: Guiding Star: Archery
  • Effect: Aerial combat stance and multi-target arrows
  • Paired 4-Star Outfit: Heartward Hues (interactive flame effect)

Guide of No Return builds directly on the archery ability introduced back in 2.0. The free Purifying Wind outfit from the start of Itzaland only fires one arrow at a time. This outfit adds multi-target shots and a hovering stance that lifts Nikki off the ground. It's not true flight, but the increased firepower is a meaningful step up for combat.

Resonance Crystals are limited, so treat this as a genuine choice. Insect farming efficiency points toward Floral Rebirth. Combat-focused players get more from Guide of No Return.

What is the Starlight Contest?

Infinity Nikki now has a competitive element, though it's less about direct combat and more about community fashion judging. The Starlight Contest is a recurring competition where players submit outfits based on a rotating theme, then vote on each other's submissions. After votes are tallied, top-ranked players earn Diamonds and Upgrade Packs to push their wardrobe forward.

Themes rotate with each contest cycle, so there's always a fresh prompt to build around. It's a solid reason to engage with the fashion system beyond just personal preference.

Limited-time events and rewards

The 2.5 event slate ties closely to the Boneyard and Soul Realm mechanics. Here's a breakdown of what's running:

The login event is straightforward. Seven days within the event window, not seven consecutive days, nets you 10 Revelation Crystals. That alone makes it worth checking in daily.

How to approach 2.5 if you're returning after a break

The sheer volume of content here can feel overwhelming if you haven't touched the game since 2.0. Here's the order that makes the most sense:

  1. Complete Chapters 6 and 7 of the Itzaland main story to unlock the Soul Ocarina and Boneyard access.
  2. Pick up the free Luster Covenant outfit early. You need it to break Windbones in Hollowbreath Passage.
  3. Start the Tales of Itzaland II event chapters as they unlock to stay on track for the Verdant Chord outfit.
  4. Run Hollowbreath Passage regularly to build up Crystals of Blessing for Diamonds and Resonite Crystals.
  5. Decide on your banner pull (Floral Rebirth or Guide of No Return) based on your playstyle, then save accordingly.
