About Engines of Fury Halloween Event

Engines of Fury, the blockchain-based PvPvE extraction shooter, has introduced a special Halloween event called Engines of Spooky. Running from October 29 to November 6, 1 PM UTC, the event allows players to hunt pumpkin-like creatures, collect Jack-o’-lanterns, and compete for NFT rewards based on in-game performance. The event follows the game’s recent public launch on the Epic Games Store, which featured a $1 million $FURY reward pool.

About Engines of Fury Halloween Event

Engines of Fury is a free-to-play title available on the Epic Games Store that blends PvPvE combat with extraction-based mechanics. Players drop into large maps, including Fairwater and Cliffside, to scavenge resources, fight off mutated monsters or rival players, and extract safely. Failure to escape results in losing all collected loot, which can then be claimed by others. Combat occurs in real time from a top-down perspective, with players relying on sound cues, mini-map indicators, and limited visibility to detect threats.

The game uses a dual-resource economy, where ALLOY earned during missions can be exchanged for the primary token, $FURY. This token can be used for progression, in-game purchases, or marketplace transactions. Since October 2024, Engines of Fury has conducted three closed playtests offering $FURY and NFT rewards. With the public release marking the start of Season 2, the game now features live events, competitive leaderboards, and ongoing play-to-earn opportunities.

Pumpkin-Like Creatures and Jack-o’-Lanterns

During the Engines of Spooky event, the in-game city of Stoneport is decorated with seasonal visuals, darker tones, and ambient lighting. Players encounter pumpkin-like creatures that appear randomly across Fairwater and Cliffside maps. Defeating these enemies drops Jack-o’-lanterns, which must be safely extracted to count toward the event leaderboard. Only items stored in a player’s hideout are considered, meaning that elimination before extraction results in a loss of collected loot.

The leaderboard ranks players based on the total Jack-o’-lanterns successfully stored, with rewards available for the top 30 participants. The first-place player receives both an Initiate’s Pass NFT and a Rare Engine Core NFT, while players in second through twentieth place receive an Initiate’s Pass NFT. Those in twenty-first through twenty-fifth place are awarded a Faction Lockbox NFT, and positions twenty-six through thirty earn Medusal Stems.

Pumpkins react dynamically during combat. They may attempt to flee when attacked and can become hostile if their health drops too low, requiring players to defeat them efficiently. The event encourages careful time management and strategic gameplay, as only extracted loot contributes to leaderboard standings.

Available on Epic Games Store

To participate, players must download or update Engines of Fury through the Epic Games Store. Once in the game, they can join matches, locate the pumpkin enemies, and collect Jack-o’-lanterns. The event is designed to be accessible to both new and returning players, allowing them to experience the core extraction mechanics while competing for limited-time rewards. Leaderboard placement is based solely on in-game performance, making this a fair free-to-play opportunity to earn NFTs without external advantages.

The event is the first major themed activity since the public launch of Engines of Fury. Players interested in seasonal content or top-down shooters can take part until November 6, when rewards will be distributed according to final leaderboard rankings.
