Every MMO worth its subscription runs seasonal events, and Final Fantasy XIV Online has built one of the more consistent calendars in the genre. Square Enix rarely announces exact dates far in advance, but the events themselves follow a reliable yearly rhythm, which makes planning ahead surprisingly straightforward.
What's live right now: Make it Rain 2026
The Make it Rain Campaign is the current active event, running from May 29 through June 24, 2026 (ending at 7:59 am PDT). If you haven't started it yet, head to Ul'dah and talk to Ollier at coordinates X:9.4, Y:9.1 to pick up the quest "It Could Happen to You."
Here's the thing: Make it Rain is more than just a login bonus. The event boosts MGP earnings from Gold Saucer activities across the board, and a Campaign Attendant at X:5.4, Y:6.3 sells event-specific decorative items for discounted MGP, including the Make It Rain Campaign MMXXV and MMXXIV Advertisements.
The headline reward this year is the Senor Otter minion and Senor Otter Pack backpack glamour, which has a bit of a story behind it. The Senor Otter Pack accidentally appeared in players' inventories during Patch 7.5 as a bug before being quietly removed, so this event is the legitimate way to claim it.
Make it Rain ends June 24, 2026 at 7:59 am PDT. You have a narrow window left to grab the Senor Otter rewards before they're gone until next year.
The 2026 events still to come
With Make it Rain wrapping up late June, the next stretch of the calendar is what players should start thinking about. Here's what the rest of 2026 looks like based on historical patterns:
What most players miss is how much value The Rising carries beyond nostalgia. Yoshi-P has a track record of using the event's narrative framing to drop subtle hints about upcoming content directions, so it's worth paying close attention to the quest dialogue when it goes live.
Events that already happened in 2026
If you joined recently or took a break earlier in the year, here's what ran before Make it Rain:
- Heavensturn: December 31, 2025 - January 15, 2026
- Valentione's Day: February 2 - February 16
- Little Ladies' Day: February 26 - March 12
- Hatching-Tide: March 23 - April 6
- Moogle Treasure Trove: March 31 - April 28
- The Maiden's Rhapsody: May 9 - May 25
Missing these isn't as painful as it sounds. Square Enix regularly recycles older event rewards through the Mog Station store or brings them back via vendor discounts during the following year's equivalent event. Mounts and minions from past events tend to resurface eventually.

How FFXIV handles special collaborations
Beyond the recurring calendar, Square Enix occasionally drops limited-time collaboration events. The Final Fantasy XV crossover that brought the Regalia mount into the game is the most notable example. These collabs don't follow a predictable schedule, so keeping an eye on the official Lodestone for announcements is the safest bet.
The key here is that collaboration rewards almost never return through normal channels. Unlike standard seasonal items that cycle back through vendors, collab exclusives tend to stay exclusive, which makes them genuinely time-sensitive in a way the regular calendar events aren't.

Here's how recovery works
The general rule for FFXIV seasonal content: quest rewards tied to the event quest itself (minions, emotes, mounts) are the ones most likely to hit the Mog Station or reappear as vendor items the following year. MGP-purchased items from event vendors sometimes return at normal Gold Saucer pricing after the event ends.
For players deep into the FFXIV Patch 7.4 content or working through the glamour system after the Patch 7.4 glamour overhaul, the seasonal event rewards layer on top of an already deep cosmetic pool, so there's rarely a shortage of things to chase. The full Final Fantasy XIV Online guide collection has you covered for everything outside the event calendar too.
