More About Apeiron
Apeiron bills itself as the world's first NFT-based god game running on the Ronin blockchain. It mixes rogue-lite dungeon card-battler mechanics with god game simulation gameplay inspired by classics like Populous and Black & White.
A 60-person Hong Kong development team built Apeiron, and the prototype secured one of the largest single-game seed fundings in web3 from investors including Hashed, IVC, Morningstar Ventures, Spartan Group, and DeFiance. Total funding now sits at $24 million, including a recent $13.5 million seed round.

Introducing Season 3 Newest Features
Season 3 runs from September 5th to October 17th and introduces both PvP and PvE leaderboards for the first time. Each leaderboard has different reward structures:
- PvP Leaderboard: The top 5000 players split over 240,000 $APRS tokens and 340+ Golden Apostle Tickets. The top 3 players each receive 2500 $APRS tokens. Players must reach at least Gold Rank to qualify for rewards.
- PvE Leaderboard: This leaderboard tracks the best dungeon score achieved in a single playthrough. The top 10,000 players can earn Animus, Golden Apostle Tickets, and additional rewards based on their ranking. New in-game items are available to help players improve their dungeon performance and increase their chances of securing rewards.
Season 3 brings not only new gameplay features but also the chance to earn a share of 1 million $APRS tokens. As Apeiron's primary ecosystem token, $APRS plays a role in governance, staking, and minting NFTs. With the introduction of the Apostle System, the value and utility of $APRS have expanded, further incentivizing active participation.

The Updated Apostle System
The new Apostle System introduces major enhancements to gameplay, allowing players to interact with Apostles (advanced Doods that evolve into heroic figures used in both PvE and PvP battles). Key features include:
Bless: Transform Apostles into Non-NFTs
The Bless mechanic lets players bind an Apostle NFT to a Planet, turning it into a non-tradable, off-chain asset. This enables skill progression, a feature previously unavailable to NFT Apostles. However, blessed Apostles are exclusive to the Planet they're bound to and have a lifespan of 31 days. To extend their lifespan, players must feed them souls earned through PvE or PvP battles.
Reforge: Bring Apostles Back to the Blockchain
Players who want to return their blessed Apostles to the blockchain as tradable NFTs can use the Reforge mechanic. Each reforge requires 200 $ANIMA times the number of reforges, and the Apostle's skills must have increased during the blessed period for it to be eligible.
Angelization: Mint PvE Apostles
Through the Angelization feature, players can mint their PvE Apostles into tradable NFTs once all three skills are unlocked. A seven-day waiting period is required before minting, and the cost is determined by how many times the Apostle's lifespan was reset, with minting costs starting at 50 $APRS and 240 $ANIMA.

Final Thoughts
The Apostle System adds strategic depth to Apeiron's gameplay. Players now face a choice: keep their Apostles as tradable NFTs or bind them to a Planet for skill development. The 31-day lifespan and soul-feeding mechanic add resource management, where players must balance keeping their Apostles alive with the potential rewards of minting new ones.
In PvP, the exclusivity of blessed Apostles to their respective Planets adds tactical complexity. Players can no longer rely on the same Apostle across multiple battles, requiring more thoughtful planning. The Reforge mechanic offers flexibility, allowing players to either reintroduce skilled Apostles to the marketplace or continue benefiting from their abilities in-game.
With its new Apostle System, Apeiron has introduced mechanics that add both strategic complexity and increased player agency. The Season 3 update, paired with a substantial $APRS prize pool, marks a significant evolution in the game, attracting both seasoned players and newcomers eager to explore the "Godiverse."
