Avengers: Doomsday Trailer Hits 503M Views in 24 Hours

AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY Poster Has Confirmed a Huge Doctor Doom Story Detail — GeekTyrant

503 million views in a single day. That number tells you everything about where Marvel's hype machine stands right now, and it's a number that comes with an asterisk worth paying attention to.

The first full trailer for Avengers: Doomsday landed and the internet did what the internet does. Within 24 hours, the trailer had racked up 503 million views across platforms, making it one of the most-watched trailers in history. The key word there is “one of.”

How 503 million views still falls short

Here's the thing: 503 million views is a number that would have been a record-breaker at almost any other point in recent history. It comfortably beats the GTA 6 trailer, which pulled 475 million views in its first 24 hours and was widely considered the gold standard for trailer performance. If you want the full breakdown on where GTA 6's marketing campaign sits right now, check out our piece on when GTA 6 Trailer 3 is coming out.

But Spider-Man: Brand New Day reset expectations entirely. That trailer hit 719 million views in its first day, becoming the first trailer in history to clear 500 million views in 24 hours, and then some. Avengers: Doomsday crossed 500 million too, but the gap between the two is 216 million views. That's not a rounding error.

tip
Spider-Man: Brand New Day's 719 million first-day views currently holds the all-time record for any trailer across any medium. Avengers: Doomsday is second, with GTA 6 sitting third at 475 million.

What the trailer actually showed

The Doomsday trailer didn't arrive cold. It followed four short teasers that dropped in sequence, each spotlighting a different corner of the MCU: Steve Rogers' return, Thor, the X-Men, and the Wakandans. By the time the full trailer dropped, the audience was already primed.

The full trailer delivered two things fans had been waiting for. First, Robert Downey Jr.'s voice as Doctor Doom, heard properly for the first time. Second, a clearer look at the scale of what's coming: the Avengers squaring off against the X-Men, Steve Rogers back in a capacity that still raises questions, and a cast that includes Anthony Mackie's Captain America, the Thunderbolts, and the Fantastic Four.

Tom Holland's Spider-Man is notably absent from the Doomsday lineup entirely, which makes sense given he's headlining Spider-Man: Brand New Day separately. Producer Amy Pascal has been clear that each film is designed to stand on its own.

The gaming connection that makes these numbers matter

The fact that a Marvel movie trailer and a video game trailer are being compared in the same conversation says a lot about where pop culture attention sits in 2026. GTA 6's 475 million views set a gaming record that held until Spider-Man: Brand New Day broke it, and now Avengers: Doomsday has slotted in between the two.

For Marvel games specifically, that kind of cultural momentum feeds directly into player engagement. Marvel Rivals has been riding the Doomsday wave hard, with the Path to Doomsday event running inside the game. If you're playing and want to make the most of it, the Marvel Rivals Path to Doomsday Avengers rewards guide covers every free reward available before the event closes.

What comes next for the MCU's biggest year

The release calendar is stacked. Spider-Man: Brand New Day hits on July 29 (UK) and July 31 (US). Avengers: Doomsday follows on December 18. Two of the biggest Marvel releases in years, separated by a few months, with both trailers already sitting in the top three most-viewed of all time.

The trailer view count competition between gaming and film is genuinely new territory. GTA 6 proved a video game could compete with any blockbuster for raw attention. Spider-Man: Brand New Day proved Marvel could reclaim the top spot. Now Avengers: Doomsday has confirmed the bar has permanently moved upward for everyone.

For players already deep in the Marvel ecosystem, the Marvel Rivals Path to Doomsday mode guide has everything you need to know about the asymmetric Avengers PvP event, including Loki's full ability kit and the event end date, before Doomsday arrives in theaters.
