Battlefield 6 Season 3 has a confirmed release date, and it's almost here. EA has locked in Tuesday, May 12 as the global launch day for the new season, continuing the same rollout schedule the studio has used since launch.
For players across time zones, here's when Season 3 goes live:
- 8 AM PT
- 10 AM CT
- 11 AM ET
- 3 PM UTC
- 4 PM BST
Three new guns and the return of an icon
The headline addition for many players will be the weapons. Season 3 brings three new firearms to Battlefield 6:
The M16A4 is the one that will get long-time fans talking. It's a franchise staple that took three full seasons to make the cut, and its arrival signals EA is leaning into the classic Battlefield identity that players have been asking for since launch. Three new attachments also arrive alongside the weapons: the Speed Holster, Aftermarket Buffer, and Burst Mode, all designed to give players more flexibility when customizing their loadouts.
All rewards earned in Season 3, including those from Ranked Battle Royale, are usable across both REDSEC and the original Battlefield 6 modes.
Railway to Golmud is the biggest map yet
The season's first phase, titled Warlords: Supremacy, introduces Railway to Golmud, which EA is calling the game's largest map to date. Set in a valley-and-hills environment built around a village, the map's defining feature is a moving train that players must contest to control. That kind of dynamic objective has serious potential to create the chaotic, multi-front engagements that the series built its reputation on.
The Battlefield account confirmed on May 5 via X (formerly Twitter): "Fight on Railway to Golmud, our biggest map yet." The post also confirmed that the season's narrative framing involves warlords rising as NATO strikes back, under the Pax Armata storyline.
Ranked Battle Royale and what comes after May 12
The other major addition is Ranked Battle Royale, complete with its own leaderboard system. Players climb ranks, earn rewards along the way, and receive a bonus payout at season's end. This has been a consistent community request, and its arrival here suggests EA has been listening to the competitive player base that found the unranked BR mode lacking stakes.
Season 3 doesn't stop at launch day, either. The Blastpoint Update arrives on June 9, followed by the High-Value Target Update on June 30. That three-phase structure mirrors how Seasons 1 and 2 were handled, so players can expect a steady drip of content through the summer.
