Battlefield Studios is bringing Battlefield 6's server browser forward to Season 5 Phase 2, with a staged rollout beginning shortly after the update launches on November 10, 2026.

The feature was originally scheduled for December alongside Season 5 Phase 3. The studio has moved it forward from December alongside Season 5 Phase 3, saying it wants to focus on stability before the holidays.

“Bringing the server browser back to Battlefield is all about giving you direct control over how, where, when, and with whom you play,” Battlefield Studios said.

A Quickplay shortcut into official servers

Once available, a server browser option in the Quickplay row will open the new Official tab, displaying active servers without another trip through the menus. Additional browser tiles will appear elsewhere, including Portal, which already has a browser for community-created servers.

Official servers in one place

The Official tab combines Battlefield Studios-hosted servers and Official Player-hosted servers in one place. Quickplay, Multiplayer, Custom Search, and the browser all draw on the same official server pool, allowing matchmaking to help keep browser-listed matches populated.

The browser includes these search controls:

  • Filter servers by map or mode.
  • Sort listings by ping, player count, server name, or Recommended.

Every server in the Official tab awards full XP, weapon mastery, and challenge progression, matching standard matchmaking. Choosing a match directly therefore keeps the same progression support as joining through the usual queue.

Players can also browse Verified and Custom servers. Verified servers support full XP progression, while Custom servers support partial XP progression.

Persistent lobbies without a permanent host

Persistent lobbies let your squad stay on the same server across consecutive rounds instead of returning to the main menu after every match. That is the browser's most practical change between rounds. For a broader look at the shooter itself, see the Battlefield 6 review.

Official Player-hosted servers run on dedicated instances. The host does not need to remain in the match to keep the server online, so its continued operation is not tied to that player staying connected.

Those servers remain visible in the browser when empty. Once at least one player joins, the match is seeded and matchmaking begins routing players in. A server can remain active for up to seven consecutive days without any players before being delisted.

Battlefield Studios plans to share exact rollout timing and a full guide to the server browser soon. For help with the game in the meantime, browse the Battlefield 6 guide collection.
